(More) Every chance I get, I'm with my horses Finn and Ellie or doing something in my garden or with photography. My dog Jazz is usually with me. I have a new Mac and am spending time learning that system. I'm a professor, School of Social Work, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I have spent many years doing research on the meanings of violence to perpetrators and survivors, how persons over come adversities and become resilient, and the development of violent behaviors. I use in-depth interviewing to collect life stories.I have had several projects that involve children, teens, and their families.I'm very interested in qualitative research and believe that researchers have hardly begun to tap into the potential that qualitative methods have for enhancing knowledge and building effective social polices and programs.Don't be put off with my infrequent but striking use of slang.
