From our initial meeting with the Rosedale Development Association we learned that 51% of Rosedale children are obese. This is obviously a problem.

In total 89% of students in the Rosedale area receive free lunch. This ensures kids eat lunch every day, but are they really getting what they need?

In our research we found that children that ate school lunch had a 29 % more likely chance of being overweight. This has been linked to the fact that school lunches are full of empty calories and carbs, while lacking basic nutrition.

According to congress and the USDA, the tomato sauce on pizza allows a slice to count toward a school lunchs vegetable requirements. This was almost repealed but was deemed too costly to reverse.
