Voters in Pennsylvanias 12th Congressional District Congressman Mark Critz has maintained his double-digit lead over Keith Rothfus and is wellpositioned to win in Pennsylvanias 12th Congressional District. He holds an 11-point lead (52% Critz / 41% Rothfus / 7% undecided), similar to where the race was in August (50% Critz / 40% Rothfus / 10% undecided). Mark Critz still earns a majority of votes, as he did in August. Despite Republican attacks on Critz, he holds an 11-point lead and is over the 50% mark (52% Critz / 41% Rothfus)

Voters are becoming more favorable towards Mark Critz, and they are becoming less favorable towards Keith Rothfus. Mark Critzs personal popularity rating has improved to almost 2:1 favorable (40% favorable / 21% neutral / 23% unfavorable) since August (31% favorable / 26% neutral / 24% unfavorable). At the same time, as voters have learned more about Keith Rothfus support of outsourcing and NAFTA-style free trade deals, his popularity rating has worsened (24% favorable / 23% neutral / 25% unfavorable) since August (21% favorable / 25% neutral / 12% unfavorable) and now is net negative.

The district remains competitive, with the President Obama making gains here as he has statewide. President Obama trails Mitt Romney by five points (46% Obama / 51% Romney). In June, President Obama trailed Mitt Romney by nine points (42% Obama / 51% Romney). This mirrors the statewide public polling movement since August. Obamas current 46% vote share is similar to the 45% of the vote he won in the current configuration of the district in 2008.

Anzalone Liszt Research conducted N=400 live telephone interviews with likely 2012 general election voters in Pennsylvanias 12th CD. Interviews were conducted between September 23-25, 2012. Respondents were selected at random, with interviews apportioned geographically based on past voter turnout. Expected margin of sampling error is 4.9% with a 95% confidence level.
