Students Capability Building Project (Vidyarthi Kshamata Vardhan Prakalp) An Appeal

As you are well aware, Sevavardhini is a Service organization which has been providing guidance since 1998 to various voluntary Seva organizations fulfilling the role of an Apex body for about 200 likeminded NGOs. Starting from registration of the NGO up to management of the organization, we have been actively providing support to about 200 Seva organizations. Our specialization areas are - writing Project Proposals/Reports, conducting evaluation, Surveys, workshops on various training themes such as water conservation and management, waste management, Bio-gas projects, Honeybee keeping and Bibba processing. Our central theme is to provide all services under one roof, to field level voluntary Seva organizations in order to build their capacity to serve the society more effectively. Saraswati An initiative for capability building of rural and tribal students Sevavardhini has designed a development program named Saraswati - Vidyarthi Kshamata Vardhan Prakalp for skills improvement and personality development of the rural and tribal students residing in rural and tribal areas. It will benefit the students residing in hostels in various towns, which have been established by Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, Vishva Hindu Parishad and many other NGOs. Two years ago Sevavardhini collected information about 102 boys and girls residing in 3 hostels in Pune district. These hostels are taking care of the students residence, meals and education very sincerely. Sevavardhini decided to go one step further and arrange for extra curricular educational programs which will help them in their overall personality development. Thus the idea of Saraswati - Vidyarthi Kshamata Vardhan Prakalp was born. It is designed to take care of 3 aspects health check ups, educational and extra-curricular development. In order to run this program successfully we need help from likeminded persons in the society. We have sent e-mails to many such persons. The project is taking shape after planning and deliberations for three years. The road traveled so far : The most predominant health problems found in rural boys and girls are roundworms, skin diseases, eye-sight and hearing problems, anaemia and vitamins deficiency. This has an adverse effect on their academic performance. So, a free health check up camp was organized on the 26th February 2012 at Ravadi in Bhor taluka for the boys and girl students of Krantiveer Vasudeo Balawant Phadke Smruti Vidyalaya (run by Saraswati Pratishthan Dadhichinna Pranam) and Rayareshwar Hostel. 85 students health check up was done.
