Summary of Housing Options Advice I advised that you could look into reconstructing a home on the land in Ireland. You said you did not think you could get planning permission. I further suggested that as you previously had (what you referred to as a chalet ) on the property, you could possibly look into getting another. I asked if you had any idea of the cost, you said you didnt. I suggested to you that as you are not altogether happy with living in Ireland, this could be a temporary measure while you try to selling the land and consider shared ownership from the proceeds. I suggested that as you are not entitled to Housing Benefit and purchasing a house on the open market is harder to attain, you could consider selling the land and buying a shared ownership property as this would give you an opportunity to secure a home and invest the proceeds from the land in the meantime. I also advised that you should try and access your own accommodation in the private sector and that you should consider finding accommodation in a more affordable area. I informed that this is likely to be out of the borough. I hope you have been having some success with at least one of these options. I have not made my decision yet but in the interim, please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel I can be of some assistance. I will try my best to help or at least signpost you in the right direction. I will get back to you soon. Regards Rose McIntosh 0207 937 4474
