State Senate Candidate Cecilia Tkaczyk Urges New Yorkers To Prepare For Hurricane Sandy
(Guilderland, NY) Cecilia Tkaczyk (pronounced: KAT-chik), today urged the residents of the 46th Senate District, and all New Yorkers, to take the necessary precautions before Hurricane Sandy reaches New York. As Hurricane Sandy continues on its path to our state, I urge all New Yorkers to prepare for the storm and stock up on supplies, Cecilia Tkaczyk said. Under Governor Cuomos leadership, our state and local emergency officials have been preparing for this storm and I commend the Governor for his proactive approach. I urge all New Yorkers to take the necessary steps to prepare for the storm and to heed evacuation notices should they be issued by state authorities. With Hurricane Sandy expected to bring high winds and heavy rainfall, Cecilia Tkaczyk urges New York residents, especially those in areas prone to flooding, to stock up on non-perishable food supplies, flashlights and batteries. Cecilia is also calling for residents to charge cellphones and have emergency bags with foods and clothing prepared in case evacuations become necessary. New Yorkers can also sign up for information about the storm and alerts at www.nyalert.gov. Cecilia Tkaczyk is a mother, small business owner and Vice President of the Duanesburg School Board. Shes running for the New York State Senate to ensure Upstate New York receives its fair share; focusing on job creation, rural and small city school districts and protecting Upstate New Yorks vitally important land and water resources.
