Calendar Attached is the calendar for 2012-2013 for Troop 1949. Please read it carefully and make note of significant dates on your family calendar. As many of you know, the process for scheduling council activities is by lottery. I was very aggressive this year in signing up for as many activities (as well as the same activity on multiple dates) as I thought we could manage as a troop. I usually dont find out whether or not we are in or out until two weeks prior and then sometimes I dont hear anything at all or the event is cancelled. The process can be frustrating in trying to schedule drivers, etc. But the basic procedure we will follow this year is as follows: Ive put all the dates for every activity I signed up for on the calendar. In the event we get into an event, it usually but not always means we will cancel the meeting for that week. Exceptions are the Holiday Boutique, which is a sure thing and/or when the activity takes place on a non-meeting week. I will cancel the meeting if: the activity is on or close to a regular meeting date or if everyones schedules permit the majority of the girls to attend the troop activity. This years caveat: If you RSVP that you will attend and then when the date comes up you have another conflicting sports or other activity, you will be required to reimburse the troop for the money we paid for her to attend the event. No exceptions! If you commit to a Girl Scout Activity, please stick to that commitment. Otherwise we have issues with cancellations, penalties and issues with having enough drivers. Lastly, please dont no show on the day of an event. This happens very seldom but prevents adults from attending on activities where there are a maximum number of allowed participants. ALL dates on the calendar are subject to change based on scheduling, availability of activities, etc. Please see the troop blog (and sign up for updates!) for the latest information: http://gstroop1949.blogspot.com 400Leader: Jen Allen, (530) 400-6215 Co-Leader: Sue Banuelos, (530) 219-9282 219-

Bring to Meetings: Guide to Girl Scouts and Vest. Girls should wear or bring their vest to school on meeting days. Meeting Days: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the Month (with the exception of holiday weeks and special activities/field trips) Meeting Location: Pioneer Elementary Room G-37 from 1:30 pm to 3 pm. Code of Conduct: Girls are expected to behave at meetings according to the Girl Scout Law:

Girls: We do our best to redirect girls by using the law and asking them how they should be acting. If that doesnt work we will institute a time-out. Girls may join the group again once they explain what choice they should have made and/or apologize, if applicable. We will institute time-outs if needed. Parents: Please arrive and pick up your daughter on time. Please let us know if your daughter will
not be attending the meeting or is sick so that we do not hold up the start of the meeting. Snack and Parent Volunteer: Snack should consist of a something fun (cookies, brownies, cupcakes) and something filling (crackers, fruit, pre-popped popcorn) and juice. We ask that all food is brought ready-to-serve: juice in self-contained boxes/packets, popcorn popped, etc. so no prep is needed. In the event we cancel the meeting where you have snack, your snack date will be moved to the next meeting and everyone else will shift down. I will need a parent volunteer at every meeting, so please review the calendar and email me date(s) or times you are available. I really need a craft parent who I can delegate the craft prep to. This would be a huge help. Without two adults we cannot hold our meetings. cannot
