Analysis of Music Video

Car drives round the bend and into the drive way whilst man is on the phone. Flat angle mid shot which focuses on showing the car approaching. Zoom in effect as the car comes close to the camera. Man opens the door whilst on the phone, still a flat angle mid shot.

Gives the money to the cab driver, and looks up, whilst still on the phone. Flat angle mid shot.

Walks towards the camera, then looks behind him and then walks past the camera. Whilst still on the phone talking about a meeting with someone about pop music. Flat angle mid shot. Changes to a shot of medics wheeling a body out of a van with a guitar in its hand. This is what the man can see as he is walking past. Flat angle, wide shot.

Switches to the man walking past the body thats being wheeled out of the van, his still on the phone, and looks over at the scene just as he reaches the brown door. Flat angle, wide shot.

As the man on the phone walks into the building, it switches to a shot of the body on the trolley looking up at the camera still holding the guitar. This is where the music starts. Flat angle, mid shot.

Lady walking down the corridor of what looks like a hospital holding a keyboard. Flat angle, mid shot that slowly moves in the same direction as the lady.

Male character is walking up the corridor in the opposite direction to the female. When he sees her, he takes his sunglasses off and looks at her then looks in front whilst he is still on his phone. Flat angle, mid shot, whilst camera is moving in the same direction as the male is walking.

00:22-00:23 Shot changes to show who's in the room, appears to be 3men in lab coats around a monkey structure. They are holding small instruments. They then look up at the camera when the door knocks. Wide shot showing the misc-en-scene in the room, flat angle.

00:24-00:25 Switches to a pan shot showing the faces of the males and the last male smiles at the camera and lifts his hand up as a gesture to welcome him in. Pan shot, flat angle, mid shot.

2 of the men in the lab coats walk out of the room aside of the male who knocked on the door. The man walks into the room. Mid shot, flat angle.

The man walks into the room and shakes the hand of another male. Can only see the back of his head and the man in the black jackets face gestures. Over shoulder mid shot.

Analysis
This music video isnt one that would usually be associated with the electronic genre. The narrative of the music video isn't related to the lyrics of the song at all. This makes the video stand out to the audience as it is memorable. The performance comes further in the video when the monkeys are performing with human faces. From this video I am going to suggest to the group the idea of coming up with a memorable narrative which doesnt necessarily link in with the song lyrics. If the artist had gone with using a standard Electronica music video, it would be boring to the audience as they have seen these many times before, so making it different and unique would be more appealing to them.
