The Comptroller General is under the direction of the VP Finance of the Student Federation and is governed as per By-Law No. 7 of the Constitution. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of the Student Federation finance team.

Description
Auditing each of the Federations 25 Federated Bodies three times per year Under the direction of the SFUO VP Finance, evaluate current structures for audit and proposing changes Keeping Federated Body Executives informed of their financial situation Exercising investigative powers of the position where and when necessary Helping VP Finances and Treasurers put together their audits Meeting with VP Finances and Treasurers to discuss their Federated Bodiesfinancial situation and to give advice Sitting on the Finance Committee, the Clubs Committee, the Accessibility Fund Committee, and the Money Round Table Attending meetings and taking minutes Contributes to the positive image of the Student Federation Other related duties

Requirements
Proficiency in professional written and verbal communication in both English and French Strong organizational skills are vital to this position Be resourceful Able to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications Knowledge of budget preparation and analysis techniques Demonstrate inductive and deductive reasoning Be patient, diligent and thorough Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel Good problem solving skills and the ability to make the necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand Ability to adapt to and learn new software Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
