National Jr. Honor Society will be selling Candy Cane Grams on Monday, December 10th thru Thursday the 13th after school and during lunch as a fund raiser. The Candy Canes are $0.50 a piece, or 5 for $2 and will be delivered on Tuesday, December 18th. All the profits will go towards helping the Erie Optimist Club and Operation Santa. If you would like to purchase a candy cane to be delivered to you son or daughter, just send a note with To and From listed and money in an envelope to school labeled NJHS to the front office. Thanks in advance for supporting this worthy NJHS project.

Parents/Guardians:
We are starting to promote Box Tops Across America! Every student has brought home a school-addressed envelope and a note explaining to receiver that we are trying to collect box tops from every state! See Ms. Hebrink in the Counseling Office if you didnt get one. MAKE SURE you fill in your name and teacher name before mailing. You can send the envelope and note separately, or slip them into a holiday card. We encourage you to make copies of the note and send envelopes to everyone you know. If you could include a stamp on the envelope, that would encourage participation. There will be a US map hanging in the cafeteria. We will put a push pin in each state as we receive box tops from that state. The grade level that collects from the most states will receive an extra recess. If all 50 states are covered, every grade level will win! We will use the postmark on the envelope to count for the state. Each grade level will receive CO as a start. I also want to encourage everyone to collect their own box tops over Winter Break! There will be ten drawings for a Wendys Frosty. Collect your box tops and send in a Ziploc bag, envelope, etc. marked with your name and teacher name. Be sure to ask friends/coworkers/family to save for you! All box tops must be received by January 10, 2013. Thank you for supporting Erie Middle School and turning your Trash Into Cash! Sherry R richsgang@yahoo.com

EMS DANCE information from Student Council:

Student Council is excited about the dances we have planned for this year. We have a group of highenergy students who are doing a great job. Our first dance was Wednesday November 28 and it was a huge success. Other dates for the dances are February 14th and April 17th. All dances will be held in the Cafetorium from 3:10 until 4:45. The cost of the dances this year is $2.00. Part of the admission fee will go to our last and best dance of the year at EMS. On April 17th EMS Student Council would like to sponsor a REAL ROCK-N-ROLL show. We are in the process of hiring a professional appropriate Rock Band to entertain the student body. If you are able to donate any extra money for our last dance that would be greatly appreciated. All money collected by EMS Student Council is always given back to the student body in some form. Donations can be given at the dances, to any student representative, to Mr. Brand or the Main Office and it will find its way to EMS Student Council. Thank You for your support and please contact Mr. Brand with any ideas, questions or concerns about EMS Student Council.
