Associate Directors, Division of Adult Institutions Wardens -PERnitANENTINTERMITTENT OF WORK HOUR CAP CORRECTIONAL OFFICER TEMPORARY BAN

Subject:

Currently, the Bargaining Unit 6 Memorandum of Understanding allows a Permanent Intermittent Correctional Officer (PICO) to work up to two thousand (2,000) hours in any calendar year. In accordance with discussions between the California Correctional Peace Officers Association, Division of Adult Institutions, and the Office of Labor, institutions may allow PICO to exceed the 2,000 hour cap for the current (2012) calendar year. It is reiterated that institutions utilize PICO in a fair and equitable manner, exercising options to maximize the use of this staffing resource. Additionally, please" ensure your. Personnel Office staff-are-aware of this temporary ban of PICa Hour cap for 2012 to ensure PIca staff exceeding the cap are paid appropriately. If you have any additional questions in this regard, please contact your respective Associate Director.
