Suitable materials and processes: Making square/rectangular cut-outs in wood such as those used in mortise and tenon joints.

Work pieces can become loose and ejected. Entanglement: Loose clothing/long hair/jewellery can become entangled in the cutting tool. Inadvertent starting of the machine . Inhalation of wood dust. 10.2.2 Risk control measures: Timber work pieces must be clamped securely. Chuck key must be removed before starting the machine. CLEAPSS Main points. 1.081 Hazards: Work pieces can slip if not clamped securely. Trainees may put their hands in hazardous places. Experienced uses may attempt shortcuts. Dust produced when machining man-made boards particularly MDF. Control measures: Additional clamps for large work pieces. PPE: Goggles. Apron. Tie long hair back.
