I. NOTIFICATION FOR INTRODUCTION OF NEW SYLLABUS BY
THE CUNCIL OF INSTITUTE OF COST ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA:
As per Notification issued by The Institute of Cost
Accountants of India dated 10
th
October, 2012, it is hereby
informed that the Institute is going to introduce the new
syllabus w.e.f. 1
st
of December, 2012 as approved by the
Council of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India at its
277th Meeting held on 1st October, 2012. All the students who
have been admitted on and after 1
st
of December, 2012, are
directed to pursue their courses under Syllabus 2012. The
first examination under Syllabus 2012 will be held in
December, 2013 term. For better understanding of the students,
the new syllabus issued by the Institute has been reproduced
here:

C. COMPUTER AND SOFTSKILL TRAINING SCHEME FOR
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:
(1) 100-hours Computer Training;
(2) Communication & soft skills training (3 days/18 hours)
D. PRACTICAL TRAINING SCHEME:
As per the curriculum framed by the Institute, all the
students are required to undergo a practical training scheme
to be become a qualified Cost and Management Accountant. The
details of the scheme are as follows-

Commencement of

A student can start the Practical
Training at any time after registering
himself or herself for Intermediate
Level but before appearing for both the
Groups or for the remaining group of the
Final Course (having qualified the other
group of the final course). However, it
is advisable that a student must engage
himself or herself in such Training
Scheme as soon as possible.
Recognition of
Past/Existing Work
Experience
A student who is already engaged in any
working field recognized by the Council
of the Institute, or having any past
work experience in such working fields
recognized the Council of the Institute
will also be considered for the purpose
of Practical Training Scheme of 3 Years.

When to appear in
Final Examination
If a student wishes to appear in any or
both the Groups of Final Course, he/she
must be registered for at least one (01)
year out of 3 years of Practical
Training Scheme and out of such one
year, a student must complete 6 months
training period before 31
st
March or 30
th

September respectively to become
eligible to make an application for
examination to be held in June/December.
