HOWsadanAccounthavetheytogive,whoseThroats,likeopen Sepulchres,blastwiththeirBreath(asfarastheirVenomreaches) themosteminentGiftsofGodinMenthatbearhisImage?Of whichdidtheyknowtheDanger,itcouldnotbutmakethem tremble,toconsiderhowtheirpoisonedArrowswillreturnand stickintheirownSouls:Yetsomehavenotfearedmaliciouslyto defamethisdeepilluminatedManofGod.AMan,whoseWritings manifestlyappeartohavebeentheDictatesofGod'sSpirit.Andthe WillofGodwasmadetheRuleofhisLife,resigninghimselftothe divineWill,towillandworknothingbutaccordingtotheWillof God.YetagainsttheSpiritofthispiousMan(asiftheyfearedan EclipseoftheirEveningSplendor,bytheDaylightofhisWritings) havesome(especiallyamongtheLampsofourmodernSects)spit forththeirVenom,inAspersionssoinjuriouslyfalse,andpalpably absurd,thatneitherReasonnorReligion,PrudenceorPiety,could yieldanyMotivethereto,butonlytheMonsteroftheirownFrailty. itself,inwhichthisSouldoesstandessentially.Besidesthese SevenPropertiesofEternalNature,therearealso,Thirdly,the NamesoftheFourElementsofHell,setdownwithinthisdarkSoul, whichinthisStateisreallyinHell,andHellitself.Andthough theyaresetinseveralPlaces,asdistinctfromeachother,yetthey mustbeconsideredastheyarewithineachotherindividually.The FirstplacedintheBrain,isPride.TheSecond,intheMouth,is Avarice.TheThird,intheBreast,isEnvy.TheFourth,inthe Belly,WrathorAnger:Andastheyproceedfrom,andproduceone another,sothisisbroughtforthbyalltheThree,concurringalways totheirGenerationagain.WhatPridecannotsubdue,whatAvarice cannotpossess,andwhatEnvycannotkillwithitsmurderingSting, thisWrathfirewillburnup,andutterlydestroy.Asthefurious enragedDevilwouldindeed(ifhecould)destroybothGODandall hisHosts.Fourthly,thereisnowfarthertobeseenaSpireofa SerpentroundabouttheHeart;andthereiswrittenroundaboutthis Serpent,SelfLove:WhichistoshowthatthisPlace,whichought tobethetrueandproperPlaceofLight,ishereonlydarkenedby SelfLove,whichhasaverynearRelationtotheFirstPropertyof EternalNature,causingbyitsMagneticalAttraction,Impression,or Contraction,theEternalDarkness.Buthere,Fifthly,appearsyet farther,directlyunderthisPlacesurroundedbytheSerpent(where beforemoreoutwardlytheAstralLightshined,andwherehereafter moreinwardly,asintheThirdTable,theEternalLightistobeborn) theRegionofFire,belongingessentiallytoMan'sEternalSoul:For FireistheFourthPropertyofEternalNature,bywhoseGeneration thisEssentialCross,andthusthewholeBeingoftheSoulinallits Existencesisperfectlymadeup.TheFirethen,thoughbefore alreadycontainedintheSevenFormsofNature,symbolizedbythe CharactersoftheSevenPlanets,isheresetdownparticularlywitha specialRespecttothetrueFirstPrinciples,whichalsointheThird Table,astoitsrestoredState,shallbemadetoappearinthissame PlaceimmediatelyundertheRegionofLight. Whathasbeensaid,relatingtothisFigure,hasbeenconcerning onlyMan'sImmortalSoul.Anditmightnowbeexpectedfarther, thatintheFourthandinmostPlaceofalltheConditionofMan's EternalSpirit,inhisunregeneratedState,shouldinthissecond Tablebealsorepresented,accordingtowhatwassaidinthe Beginning. Butwhatcanbeshownorrepresentedofthatwhichisnottobe found,whichhasnoEssencenorExistence?SuchMenorSouls havenoSpiritinthisCondition.Theyare,astheApostlesays, AnimalhavingaSoul,butnothavingtheSpirit.Thisonlythenis, andcouldberepresented,thatthereshouldbeindeedsomewhat deeper,higher,ormoreinteriorinManthanhisImmortalSoul.And forthatPurposethereisyetleftinthisTableanotherGateorDoor, tobeopenedandlookedinto;butitissmall,andthereisnotthefull FigureofaMandelineated,whichelsewouldhavebeendueaswell totheSpirit,asitwastotheSoul;butonlyasmallPieceofMan's LeftSideisexpressed,whereinnothingappears,butthosesametwo RegionsorPlacesofFireandLight,bothdarkenedandempty, havingneithertheformernorthelatter.Whichistoshow,thatin thisinmostPlace,Man'sEternalSpiritshouldliveanddwellabove hisImmortalSoul,broughtforthbyit,likeasaLightisbrought forthbyFire,anddwellsabovetheFireinahigherRegion.

First,TheBeginningofitisheresymbolizedinthefirstand outmostRepresentation.AndthechiefPlaceofthisBeginningis thatverysame,whichbeforeinhisAstralSpiritwasfullofLight fromtheoutwardSun,whichinhisImmortalSoulwasdarkened throughout,andsurroundedwiththeSerpent;andwhichinhis EternalSpiritwasvoidandempty,withoutanyFormorreal Existence.InthisPlacethereforetheHeartisnowhere significantlyexpressed,foroutofitaretheIssuesorSpringings forthofthisnewLife.IntheHeart,consideredastoalltheThree essentialPartsofMan,thoughindifferentRespects,thisBeginning ofRegenerationismade;anditismadeinananalogicalParallelism withthefirstCreationoftheMacrocosm,ofwhichtheScripture says,DarknesswasupontheFaceoftheDeep,andGODsaid,Let therebeLight,andtherewasLight.ThisDarknessupontheFace oftheDeepintheMicrocosmwasdeclaredintheSecondTable. HereisthennowtobeconsideredthateffectualWordoftheLord, saying,LettherebeLight.TheAuthorofthisLightisthesame Spirit,whomtheScripturerelatestohavemovedupontheFaceof theWaters,representedhereintheShapeofaDove,whereinhealso showedforthhimselfupontheFaceofthoseWatersoftheJordan, whereourLordfromHeaveninourvisibleHumanitywasbaptized. ButtheChiefestObjecttobetakenNoticeofhere,istheLight itself.NoSunishereyetrisen,fortheSunexpressedinthisFigure denotesonlytheAstralLightinMan'sAstralSpirit,asitdidbefore intheSecondTable.AndthisNewLight,whereintheHeavenly Doveappears,isrepresentedroundaboutthisSun,butnotas anothergreaterSun,butratherasaLighteningwithoutanyBeams ofLight,encompassingtheRaysofthisFirmamentalSun,making themnarrow,orbringingthemclosetogether,sothattheycannot beamout,orstretchforththemselvestoirradiatetheJupiterin Man'sBrain,astheydidbefore.ButthissameLightorLightening isitselfalsowithoutallBeams,anddoesnotatallilluminateMan's HeadorBrain,butdissolvesanddispelsonlythatformergrossand thickDarknessaboutMan'sHeart.AstowhatthisLightis,itisa good,true,real,HeavenlyLight,broughtforthbytheCreating WordandSpiritofGod,movingupontheFaceofMan'sHeart: ButnotwithstandingitisnotthatLightoftheSupercelestialSun, whichistoariseinthefollowingRepresentation.ItisthenaLight bearingAnalogytothatwhichintheMacrocosmwasbroughtforth thefirstDayofitsCreation,whichwasagood,true,realLight,and

wasneverthelessnotyetthatLightoftheFirmamentalSun,which wenowseeandenjoy,DaybyDay,forthisSunwasnotthenyetin Being.AndFirst,ThisLight,ononeSide,isaviolentactual shaking,scattering,dividing,melting,dissolving,anddispellingof theImpressionandCompactionoftheThree(andchieflyofthe Firstofthe)PropertiesofEternalNature,whichcausebytheir vehementMagneticalAttraction,andSaturnineCongelation,the thickInfernalDarkness.AndinthisRespectitworkseffectually bothupontheSerpentencompassingMan'sHeart,anduponthe PeacockdwellinginhisAstralPart.AndSecondly,itis,ontheother Side,ameek,amiable,appeasing,softening,penetrating,Clearness, dilating,diffusing,andsettlingitself,insteadoftheformer Darkness,inandaboutthisPlaceofMan'sHeart.Butitiswithout ShiningGlanceorLustre,oranyoutbeamingBrightness,because notyetbornoutofSubstantialBurningandEnduringFlames.And inthisRespectitchieflyaffectsMan'sImmortalSoulitself.Itisnot theLightoftheSunofRighteousnessitself,butonlyasyetaFitness ofourMind,whereinthisSun,assoonasrising,maywithout HindrancedisplayitsBeamsofbrightSubstantialLight,andmay produceasinaGlass,preparedandmadeclear,aLiving Resemblanceofitself.ItisthentheChiefestDutyofMan,inthis BeginningState,totakeHeed,accordingtotheWordsofthe Apostle,tothisFirstLIGHT,shininginaDarkPlace,untiltheDay dawn,andtheDaystar(whichnowfromhenceisapproachingto theSpiritualHorizonnearerandnearer)doesariseinhisHeart: WhoseactualRisingthenextFiguredeclares. Butbeforewecometothat,wearetoconsidertheeffectual Alteration,madebythisFirstLightorLightening,bothastothe BestialNaturedwellinginMan'sAstralPart,andastotheSerpent encompassingMan'sInwardHeart.TheBestialPropertyis expressedagainintheShapeofaPeacock,differentalittlefromthe formerinitsPosture.ItsTailisfoldedup,butnotyetlaidtothe Ground,anditsHeadiswithdrawnfromitsownLookingglassin itsdisplayedTail,asbefore,contemplatingnomorethemanifold speciousColoursofit,butlookingwithakindofAstonishment uponthatnewrisenLight,andasbeinggreatlyterrifiedbyit, knowingnotwhattomakeofit.AndtheFormofhisCountenance andPositionofhisHandexpressesthesame,whichinthenext FigurediscoversamorecalmConsiderationandSerenity.Andthis signifiesthatthisLight,orratherLightening(calledsomore properlywithapeculiarRespecttothesetwodifferentInhabitants ofAstralLightandInfernalDarkness,becausetothemitisaviolent ShakingoftheirseveralHabitations)isindeedagreatTerrortothe BrutishPropertyinMan'sAstralPart,whichhasarealForetasteof whatistocome,viz.ofitstotalDispossession,bothofallits EnjoymentsandPrerogativesitdelightedinbefore,andofallits DominionitusurpedandexercisedoverbothSoulandSpirit.Forit isreallytherebymadesensibleofthatgreatterribleEarthquakeyet tocome,thusexpressedintheRevelationofSt.John,TheSun becameblackasSackclothofHair,theMoonbecameasBlood,the StarsofHeavenfelluntotheEarth,theHeavendepartedasaScroll, andeveryMountainandIslandweremovedoutoftheirPlaces.And sothisPeacockinMan'sAstralLightismadetobesensibleofwhat shallbedonewithitinFuture.ButtotheSerpent,inhisInfernal Darkness,amuchhardereffectualStrokeisgivenbythis

Lightening.AsaccordinglyalsoinoutwardNature,every LighteningismoreterribleandofgreaterEfficacy,intheDarkness oftheNight,thanintheLightoftheDay.ThisSerpent,expressed beforeasencompassingMan'sHeart,isnowheredashedbythis LighteninginmanyPieces,fallingdownintoaDarkAbyss.Butitis notsobrokenorbruised,asthatitcouldbesaidtobekilled,or deprivedofallitsLifeandActivity;neitherisitsocastoutand banishedbyit,asifitwerequiteremoved,ordrivenoutofallthe BordersofMan'swholecreatedBeing.Butitisonlyasyetexpelled fromthisPlaceofMan'sHeart,andcastdownintoitsowndarkPit, fromoutofwhichitcame,andwhereinitlivesandhasits Existence.WhichPitorAbyssisstillinManhimself,andisnotyet shutuporsealed.AndtherethisSerpentwillincessantlyendeavour allitcan,tocomeupagain;andtorecoveritslostDominion.Let noonethereforerestsecureinthisBeginningState. TheSecondFigureinthisTable(uponliftinguptheSuperiorPartof theFirstFigure)representstheIncreaseandProgressofthis RegeneratingWork. AndFirst,TheSunishereriseninMan'sInwardHeart,where formerlytheLighteningappeared.Whichistosignifyaconstant andenduringIlluminationofMan'sEternalSoul.Forthoughthis sameSunalsomaybecloudedandeclipsed,andquitedisappearsto Man'sEyesorSensibility,andthismanyTimesagainandagain;as indeeditwillandmustbeineveryone,becauseofthegreatMixture andVariationManstandsinyet,andissubjectto,andalsobecause ofhisappointedTrialshemustundergo;yetitisaconstant,fixed, andenduringSunorLightinitself,whichshallgoundernomore, butalwaysprevailagain,anddispeleveryMistandCloud,andrise continuallyhigherandhigher,tillitattainstheveryZenith,inthe MidstofHeaven,inits,accomplishedRaceatNoon,whereitisto rest,foreverandever. Secondly,TheOutwardSuninMan'sAstralSpiritisnotthereby abolished,butitstandsyetstillinitsownPlace,whereitalwaysstood before.ForitcannotbedoneawaybutbyTemporalDeath,whenthe SpiritofthisWorldshalltakeawayfromManthatwhichwasgiven tohimbyitself,andshinedintoManbyitsowninfluencingand perishableLight.Butitcannofartherilluminatetheoutward JupiterinMan'sBrain,orifitdid,Mancouldnomorenow,ashe didbefore,regardit,muchlessadmireit,orsatisfyhimselfwithit.
ForThirdly,TheBeamsthatilluminatethisJupiter,proceednow

onlyandimmediatelyfromthisnewrisenSun:Whichistoshow,that thisInternalLightisnowgraduallymoreandmoresufficientbyitself toenlightenMan'sUnderstanding,bothastoSpiritualInward,and NaturalOutwardThings.SothatinthisLightManmaynowsee,and clearlydiscernwherehestandsnow,andwherehestoodformerly, whatwasdonewithhim,towhatEnditwasdone,andwhyitwas doneso,andnototherwise.Whichhewasaltogetherquiteignorant ofbefore. Fourthly,Butnevertheless,ifMandoesnottakeHeedtohisown Spirit,notkeepinghimselfalwaysinpureHumility,thisexteriorSun maybeamoutagain,andsendforthitsEmanationsintoMan'sHead

morepowerfullythaneverbefore;foritisnowmorefittodoitunder aDisguiseofPureInternalLight,wherebyitmayleadhimcaptive intomanystrangeandwonderfulDelusions.Asithasdoneindeed withThousandsandThousands;ofwhichmanyInstancesmightbe produced,bothOldandNew,andsuchasbroughtforthmostnotable EffectsinthisapostatizedAgeofChristianity. Fifthly,TheFirstPrincipleofFiredoesalsoherenowappearin anotherCondition.ForitsFlamesaremorelively,andmorespread abroad,andinabetterDispositionandExpectationofbecoming quiteopen,clear,andfree.AnditsInteriourPartisnotsodarkened asitwasbefore,butthisDarknessappearslikeasitwerebroken andintermixedwithLight,thoughitstandsnotyetin,butisfar fromthatUnionwiththeLight,whichitshallcomeintointhe followingFigure. Sixthly,ThereappearmoreoverTwoPiecesofSemicircles,the onefiner,andtheotherthicker,oppositetoeachother,which,as theyusuallyandproperlydenotetheTwoPrinciples,makea peculiarReflectionuponthismostconsiderableDividingbetween LightandDarkness,madebytheRisingofthisSunthroughoutthe wholeMan,wherebyeveryThinginManissetmoreorderlyinitsown duePlace.ForFirst,ThefinerCircle,properlythatoftheLight world,containswithinitsCircumferencetwodifferentThings,viz. notonlytheLightitself,butalsothegreatestPartoftheFire;which istoshow,thattheseTwobelongnowtoeachotherinthenearest Relation,andaretobemadeoneIndividualThing.Andforthis EndtheyarebothnowhereinaPreparingState,makingeach themselves,andbothofthemeachotherready,forsolemnizingthat indissolubleUnion,tobeenteredintoandfullyconsummated hereafter.AndsoSecondly,ThegrosserCircle,properlythatofthe Darkworld,containsalsotwodifferentThings,viz.notonly Darknessitself,butalsotheBestialPropertystandingintheAstral Light,whichhasbeenexpressedintheFormofaPeacock;whichis toshow,thattheseTwoalsoarenearlyrelatedtoeachother,and belongtooneandthesameRegion.ForeventhebrightestAstral LightmusthideitselfinDarkness,wherevertheopenFaceand PresenceofthisnewRisenSunappears.AndeventhebestBestial Property,isnotabletostandunveiledbeforethatPureLightofthis InternalSun,butistobeexcluded,divided,andseparatedfromit bythisCircleofDarkness. ThereisacontinualIncreasingoftheRegeneratingWork:Which impliesaperpetualProgressandAlterationofAllthosewhoare uponthisWay,whichisnot,andcouldnotbedistinctlyrepresented. ButExperiencewillmakeitplainerthananyRepresentationcan. FortheyascendalwaysfromalowerSteptoahigher,fromaweaker Statetoastronger,fromagreaterDistancetoanearerPresence,and soapproachsuccessivelynearerandnearertotheEndoftheir Journey,orasDavidexpressedit,theygofromStrengthtoStrength, tilltheyappearbeforeGODinSion. ButthisnotwithoutgreatOppositions,Trials,Combats,Fightings andBattles.ForthoughthereishereinthisForepartofMan,whose FaceisnowturnedtowardsEternity,nothingofthisKindexpressed, yetonhisBackpart,wherehisAstralMindislookingstilltowards

Time,theretheEnemywithinhisownDarkAbyss,appears exhaling,orbreathingouthispoisonousHellishSmokesandMists, andlyingcontinuallyinWatch,toentrap,toinsnare,toassault,to resistthisTravellingSoul,asisrepresentedontheBackpartofthis Figure,wheretheseThingsmaybeobserved. First,ThatthisDarkGlobefullofhorridMonsters,hiddenasit werewithinMan'sFeet,isthesamePlace,wherebeforebytheFirst LighteningtheSerpentwascastinto;itisitsownDarkWorld, Abyss,orBottomlessPitofDarkness. Secondly,ThatthisDarkAbyss,withitsInfernalInhabitants,is notyetwithoutMan,orunderMan'sFeet,sothathecouldbesaid tostandfreeaboveortotrampleuponthem.Butitisyetreallystill withinhim,thoughnomoresohighlyexaltedastoreachhisvery Heart,butthrowndowndeeperatagreaterDistancefromtheLight, ordrivenmoreintoitsownlowestandinmostPlace,asitwereto Man'sFeet,whicharerepresentedtostandtherein,toshowthat ManissurelytogothroughthisDarkRegion,andthroughmany suchOccurrencesaswillcomeforthoutofit,andmeethimto hinderhisgoingforwardinhisWay,leadingoutofTimeinto Eternity; Thirdly,ThattheSerpentinthisdarkAbysscannotapproach anymoretothisLightinMan'sHeart;nayitisblindinthis Light,andseesitnot,noranythingthatisdoneinit,butonly feelsthatitselfisvaliantlyresisted,naykeptoutandunderbyit, ifMandoesbutcontinuetobefaithfultoit.FortheSerpentis oncecastoutfromitsformerPossessionbyonestrongerthanit, whowillnowkeephisPalaceforever,thathisGoodsmaybein Peace;towhombePraiseandGloryandDominionforEver. Fourthly,ThatthisSerpent'sPowerissorestrained,and shortenedbythisLight,thatitcannotapproachsomuchastocreep intoMan'sAstralMindonhisBackpart;providedManbenot negligent,anddoesnotdepartfromhisWatch,buttakesalways HeedtotheVoiceandDirectionofhisGuide,neversilent,if himselfdoesnotwilfullyshuthisEars,orwithdrawhisAttention andObedience. Fifthly,Thatnevertheless,inasmuchasMandwellsyetstillon theBordersofthisDarkWorld,andcarrieseverywherealongwith himnotonlyanAstralMind,fittoreceivebothGoodandEvil,and toadmitaseasilythisasthat,butalsoaBestialNatureandProperty, incliningalwaysmoretoEarthlymindednessthantopureHeavenly Objects,ThisSerpentdoesnotceasetomakehisApproachesto themboth,asnearaseverpossible.Andthisisdonechieflybya continualincessantBreathingoutofhispoisoningMist,and infectiousSmoke,arisingastheSmokeofaFurnace,darkeningthe Air,andentering(ifnotwithstoodandkeptoutcontinually)into Man'sAstralMind,andintothoseStarryConstellationsthatare predominanttherein,andgiveaPropensity,moreorless,eitherto thatorthisObjectintheoutwardWorld,accordingtotheCondition andNatureofthatBestialProperty,thatwasgeneratedbythemin theFirstandOldBirthofMan. Sixthly,ThatthisSmokeischieflyandsummarilyareal

Generation,orcoagulatedOutbirthoftheFourElementsofHell, containinginitselfallKindandMannerofEvilandWickedness, perversenessandFilthiness,thatmaybefoundinalltheDark World,anddisplayingitselfinthisWorldinaninnumerableVariety ofevilDeeds,andWords,andThoughts,hiddenandcoveredmany TimesunderthefairestForms,andmostspeciousAppearances,all concentratedoriginallyintheoneindividualEssentialityofthese FourElementsofHell. Seventhly,ThattheSerpent'smostdangerousContrivance,and mostefficaciousApproaching,isinthisSmokewhentransformed intoabrightCloudofGlory,whichindeeditmaybenoless,than thisSerpentitselfmaybetranformedintoanAngelofLight.For thenitmayinsensibly,andeveninamostpleasingManner insinuateitselfintoMan'sAstralMind,andmayhavecaptivatedit, nayinfectedbothSoulandSpirit,beforeManisawareofit. AndthereforetheGoldenRuletobetakenheeduntoinallthis Way,fromtheBeginningofthenewRisenLight,untiltheputting offMortality,deliveredtoManbyHimwhodwellsandrulesinthis Light,isthis,consistingofTwomostsignificantWords,WATCH andPRAY. TheThirdandlastFigureintheThirdTableproceedstodescribe, bysomeTypicalRepresentations,thePerfectionorConsummation ofthisgreatRegeneratingWorkinMan.AndthisinthatManner, thatitshowsfirsttheBeginningofthisPerfection,whichhemay attaintowhileyetjoinedandconfinedtothisEarthlyBody,Astral Mind,andBestialProperty,andthenfartherthefull AccomplishmentofthisPerfection,tobeexpectedthen,whenhis EarthlyHouseofthisTabernacleshallbedissolved. FortheFirecontinuestobeFireforEver,andcanneverbethe Lightitself;andsotheLightisforEverLight,andnevershallbe madeFire.AndyettheseTwoarenotanymoreTwo,butonlyOne, unitedwithinoneSphereorCircleoftheHeavenlyWorld individually. WhichisyetmoresignificantlyrepresentedbytheTwoTriangles ofFireandWater,standingintheMidstwithineachother:Which whenthuscombined,makeuponeonlyperfectHexagon,the nearestFiguretothatwhichisthemostperfectofall,viz.aCircle. TheSemidiameterofaCircle,whensetforthinitsCircumference, willdivideitexactlyintoSixequalParts,whichwhencombined twoandtwotogetherareaperfectHexagon,typifyingtheSix WorkingDaysoftheCreation,ortheSixLabouringDaysofMan, inthisUnionnowaccomplished,andgatheredinintotheirown Circle,intoOneEternalSabbath,whichistheSeventhDaywithout

AstothegreatestAlterationthatisandcanbemade,bythisRe unionofFireandLight,inMan'sBestialProperty,beforeitstotal DestructionbyTemporalDeath,theEmblemofitisagaina Peacock.AnditsTailisnowquitefoldedup,andlaiddowntothe veryGround,itsEyesarefixedstedfastlyuponitsblackuglyFeet, anditsForeparttouchedbysomeBeamsofthegreatCelestialSun. FortheRationalandSensualPartofMancannotbehold,inany trueReality,itsownblack,weak,vain,andevilGrounditstands upon,tillitselfbetouchedbysomeBeamsoftheSupernaturalSun. TwoThingsareyetmoretobeobservedconcerningthisPeacock. First,ThisPeacock,thatintheformerRepresentationswasplaced inthewholeFigureorBodyofMan,asaproperPartofhim,stands nowherebutinapeculiar,separated,andHalfFigureonly,easily byitselftobeliftedup,andtakenofffromMan.Whichdenotes, thatafterthisReuniontheBestialProperty(and soalsomorethewholeexteriourvisibleMan)thoughitstill remainsaswithinitsownSphere,isyetnomoresonearly,so inwardly,soproperly,orsofamiliarlyjoinedtoMan,butcleavesto himonlyfromwithout:Secondly,ThisPeacockwas,ina Representationbefore,placedsignificantlywithintheGreater CircleoftheDarkWorld,whichstoodinthesameSuperficies oppositetotheFineroftheLight.ButherenowthisDarkCircleis quiteremovedoutofSight,anddoesnomoreappearinthisFigure, butonlytheFineroftheLightWorldstandsaloneinitsformer Place.AndthePeacockisnowplacedsignificantlyoutoftheDark Circle,standingonlywithinitsownDarkness,whichisnotthe DarknessoftheDarkinfernalWorld,butonlythatofthisoutward ElementaryWorld,wherebothGoodandEvilaremixedinone SphereorPrinciple.Andthisistoshow,thatthisReunionofFire andLightintheInternalMan,doestrulyextenditsEnergytothis veryBestialPropertyalsoinConjunctionwiththeoutwardvisible Body,accordingtotheirConstitutionandCapacity.Andbythe preciousTincturingBloodofHim,whohaswroughtoutthisHoly Reunion,theyalsoareredeemed,andstandonlyduringthisTime intheirlesserorexteriorTemporalDarkness.Whichdenotesthe NaturalDeathandDarkGravetheyareliableto,wheretheyareto rot;andtobeturnedintoDustandAshes.Fromwhence

nevertheless,intheDayofthelastAppearanceofourLordfrom Heaven,whenhecomesintheGloryofhisFather,theyshallbe raisedupagain.AndthetwooppositePropertiesofGoodandEvil, likeasthroughoutthewholeMacrocosm,sointhemalso,shallbe separatedfromeachother.Andallthatwasgoodinthem,insucha GoodnessaswasinthisLowerPrincipleoppositetoEviltherein, shallbeexaltedtoahigherDegreeofGoodness,capableofbeing admittedintotheGloryofthePrincipleofLight,accordingtothe SayingoftheApostle;ThisCorruptiblemustputonIncorruption, andthisMortal,Immortality.AndsowhenDeathisswallowedup inVictory,ManshallhavelostNothingatallofwhateverhasbeen inhim,butshallonlyfindhimselfperfectlydeliveredfromall whateverhasbeenEvil,andofaninfecting,dividing,and destroyingNature. WhennowthisHalfFigurewithitsPeacockisliftedup,thenthe FigurerepresentsthefullEternalAccomplishmentofthis Perfection:Whichwasalreadyperfectbeforewithinitself,butdoes nowexertitselfmoreSuperabundantly,inthewholeTranscendent Fullness,throughoutthewholecreatedBeingofthisReunited ImageofGOD,andinallitsThreeEssentialParts,Body,Soul,and Spirit,withoutanyHindrancesorImpediments,whichaltogetherby thisliftingupthePeacockaredoneaway.Andthiswillbe immediatelyafterhisDeath,providedthisImageofGODiscome duringhisoutwardLife,tothisperfectReunion.Thougheventhen alsotherewillbeyetafartherAlteration,orratherhigher TriumphingExaltation,aftertheResurrectionofhisOutwardPart, whenthatalsowhichwasCorruptibleandMortalshallhaveputon IncorruptionandImmortality. ThePartwhichwassubjecttotheDarknessoftheBestial Property,beinglifteduporputoffbyDeath,isnowjustlyfullof Light.FortheHalfCircleoftheEternalDarkWorld(whichstood beforeinthePlaceoppositetotheLight)isnowtheretobeseenno more,butisdrivenbackintoitsowndarkDenorHole,whichis expressedinthelastFigure,andthereitisshutandsealedup. TheDarkWorldwillnowhavedone:TheGreatWondersofthe Allfilling,Omnipotent,UniversalBeingofAllInferiorCreated Beings,arenowbroughtintoManifestation,whichtheDarkWorld musthaveconcurred,andhavebeensubservientto.Andthe Darkness,whichisplacedunderneathinthisFigure,issuppressed andcoveredoverbytheLight,andshallappearnomoretoall Eternity.
