1. Read 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:16

 Background: Throughout this passage Paul is contrasting the wisdom of the world versus the wisdom of God. What’s the
difference? The wisdom of the world depends on knowledge that may or may not be true – i.e. things we read in books.
While the wisdom of God depends on truth. Paul also deals with the message of the cross. The message of the cross is that
the cross is the key to our deliverance from the power of sin and it’s the entryway to wholeness, peace, and joy. Finally, Paul
talks about this hidden wisdom that believers have – called the mind of Christ. We Christians have access to something non-
Christians don’t – Christ’s perfect wisdom in every situation. The problem is, while we have access to it, most of the time we
choose to ignore it. However, the only conditions to knowing the mind of Christ are asking for the mind of Christ and desiring
to follow Christ’s wisdom – if we do those two things He will give it!
