PETR 6368 WELL DRILLING AND COMPLETIONS I

Course Description: Topics include drilling rig components design

and operation, circulating, wellcontrol and well monitoring systems. This course envisages studying topics such as cost analysis, probability and price elasticity. Also the course will focus on drill bit hydraulics, drilling mud composition, properties and functions, different rheology models. Additional topics include holecleaning, selected empirical correlations and models for deviated wells with emphasis on practical drilling problems, primary and secondary cementing. Substantial assignments and a term project are an integral part of the course.
