    These are the current complaints against Getty Images that are on file with the Washington State Attorney General office. These are complaints about Getty’s Settlement Demand letters sent out over alleged copyright infringement and are done in such a way that many call it “Legalized Extortion” as Getty refuses to provide any proof whatsoever of their claim, give unrealistic and artificial deadlines for payment, make veiled threats of an eminent impending lawsuit all of which are designed to instill fear and panic making the letter recipient pay before they can do any research and find out what is going on.

    Complaint Description
    Description My Uncle asked me to have my friend create a website for him. This friend of mine put a photo that he got from a free website saying that it was free. We found out Friday it was a GETTY image they sent us a letter Demanding $1250 Dollar and that my uncles business Credit is in danger. I called them and let them know that we didn't know the photo was their photo and we took down the picture and the website immediately. This company needs to be warned and shut down. I almost had a heart attack after hearing the news. And from researching the web I have found out they do this to Thousands of people and small business getting Money from them. My Uncle never used the site so it didn't have any hits on it. Please advice. Thanks, Aaron Expected resolution details: They should have giving us a letter saying we are using one of thier photo's and have to take it down asap or pay. (Not Pay now!! or else...)
