ASSESSMENT MANAGEMENT IN THE CLASSROOM

Assessment is one of the teaching

process and the application of this procedure can help classroom management.
Assessment can be carried out at any level and it is not restricted only at the end of the learning session.
There are two processes in the

Measurement is the use of a

tool to collect quantitative value or i nformation about individual learning achievement.


Assessment

is the process of making decisions based on results of measurements.

In the evaluation process, teacher

can give grade, certificate or decide whether the students need enrichment or remedial class.
Evaluation can be used to place

the student in suitable classes according to their level.

TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS PROCESS


Tests and examination preparation process requ ires teachers to plan and set the following :
Frequency of tests

and examinations in one term or semester

DRAFTING TESTS

QUESTIONS
test format is determined in reference

to the test specification table (JPUJadual Penentuan Ujian). For instance, written test is the objective test or written essay.
Non-written tests such as behaviour, such as to test the ability to use a tool.

Discuss with the teachers who teach the

same subjects from other classes whether they agreed or not with the topics which will be tested.
All the students need to be informed

about the examination/test date and the topics that is going to be tested so that they have ample time to make preparation.

In drafting the test, teachers also

need to pay attention to the following :


test or examination must be fair

and should be designed based on knowledge and skills that were taught. This test must emphasize impo rtant aspects that need to be known by students.

THE MANAGEMENT OF TEST AND EXAMINATION

PREPARE A CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT.


Make sure the chairs and tables in good

condition and suitable for students ages.


Avoid using classes that is nearer to noisy

area or area which can attract students attention.


Teacher should make sure fan and lighting

function well and good ventilation.

ALLOW THE STUDENTS TO ENTER THE EXAMINATION HALL

EARLIER.

Write the subject and time allocated for

the test on the whiteboard.


Prepare wall clock and place it at the

corner that students can see.

DURING THAT PERIOD, THE TEACHER SHOULD GIVE THE INSTRUCTION ABOUT THE PAPER.

STUDENTS SHOULD PREPARE THEMSELVES 10 MINUTES EARLIER.

Teacher should inform the students about the

subject and time allocated


Some of the rules and regulations during the examinations

are :

Dont start the examination until being told. Dont speak or communicate or cheating in

exam. Put up your hand if students needs anything.

Only stationery is allowed to be placed on the

table. Bags, hand phone, pencil case must be placed outside the classroom.
Students are not allowed to leave the

classroom 30 minutes before examination start/end.


Distribute answer sheet if needed.

CHECK THE STUDENTS ATTENDANCE DURING THE

EXAMINATION.

Teacher should always invigilating students

while they are doing their exam Teacher should remind the students how many minutes left (at least 15minutes) before the exam ended. Ask students to stop writing when the exam ended. Ask students to keep quiet and sit at their place until all the answer scripts are collected. teacher should calculate the number of scripts collected before students are allowed to dismiss.

THE MANAGEMENT OF TEST AND EXAMINATION SHOULD

GIVE EFFECTS TO THE STUDENTS.

A good management will emphasize on

the importance of the examination to the students and give a serious perception towards the activity so that students will be more responsible towards the assessment. Students will be more trustful towards their teachers and school system if the test and examination management are carried out with correct procedures.

Positive behaviour of the students will effect

their behaviour in the classroom.


Students will tend to give cooperation if they

respect the organization they belongs to.


These behaviour will lead to good socio-

emotional in the classroom.

AFTER THE EXAMINATION


Collect and count the answer sheets. Tied it properly. Bring the answer sheets to the staff room. Make sure do not ask the students to bring

the answer sheets to the staff room.
