Im hired!
I found my position through Kennesaw State's OwlLink website. It was very effective. I would say the most important advice is to always start looking early on in your college career. Employers always appreciate students that remain ahead of the curve. Also, experience out in the field is just as important as experience in the classroom, and internships/co-ops are the perfect avenue to achieve this experience. The position I hold is Marketing Assistant for THE CAMPUS SPECIAL. My responsibilities range from assisting clients with creating effective coupon deals, to working on making client profiles on the mobile application. Vince Jones, Marketing

I applied on OwlLink and got hired by COX COMMUNICATIONS as a quality Assurance Tester. Make sure you include all classs relating to your major on your rsum, keep a positive attitude, and apply for positions you are interested in. Don't give up if you don't get the position you want on your first try; that position may not be for you. Everything happens for a reason. Once you get a job, learn as much as you can and enjoy your work experience. By the way, Northwestern Mutual loves to recruit from KSU, especially for professional sales majors. I am a Financial Representative intern and I basically have the same power as any other reps in the office; including the same commission rate. On a regular day, I meet with clients I find through my network and help them create their financial security with our various insurance products. If I choose, I can also bring any other full time financial rep from my office to help me in a client case, which we call 'joint work'. What amazes me the most in this internship program is the real world experience we are exposed to.
