Responsibility and Memory After the Holocaust OTTAWA, ONT On April 24th and 25th 2013, Carleton Universitys Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies will be hosting the first large Holocaust Memorial conference since Canadas assumption of the Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre at Carleton University is Canada's "capital" research institute for Jewish Studies. The conference, titled If Not Now, When? Responsibility and Memory After the Holocaust brings together a group of Canadian parliamentarians, Holocaust survivors, senior Holocaust studies scholars, and other public figures in a discussion about remembrance, education and research. With access to Ottawa at its front steps, the Centre connects with Parliamentarians, public servants, diplomats, NGOs, international organizations and the national media, as well as other academics and the broader community, on the basis of the innovative and cutting-edge research conducted by more than two dozen Zelikovitz researchers. Prominent speakers at the conference include the Honourable Minister Jason Kenney, the Honourable Irwin Cotler, Dr. Andrew Bennett, Dr. Mario Silva, Dr. Irving Abella and more.
