2013 Technical/Vocational Scholarship

The Continental Societies, Incorporated is a national organization whose purpose is
to promote the economic, educational and social welfare of underserved and
disadvantaged children and youth.
The organization will award one Technical/Vocational Scholarship to a student
entering an occupational training program of two years or less at an accredited
Technical/Vocational school, Community College or Junior College. Students must
enter college in the same year as they graduate from high school or upon
successfully passing their General Education Development (GED) test.
The amount of the award will be $1,000, paid in full during the students first
semester in college. The award will be paid jointly to the student and the school
that the student attends upon confirmation of enrollment.
This award may be given in addition to other grants and scholarships. The recipient
will be chosen by the Continental Societies, Incorporated National Scholarship
Committee.
Candidates must use the APPLICATION FORM provided by the Continental Societies,
Incorporated and it MUST BE TYPED. For additional information, please contact
your local Chapter of Continental Societies, Inc.

ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS


[] Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or have a GED Certificate.
[] Applicant must submit a typed essay explaining why they should be chosen for
this scholarship (a minimum of 350 words and no more than 500 words).
[] High school graduates must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at
least 2.5.
[] Applicants with GED certificates should have a certification score of 2250 or
above.

[] The applicant must submit a typed Continental Societies, Incorporated


scholarship application.
[] An official high school transcript or official GED certificate must accompany the
application.
[] The scholarship application must be received by the local Chapter of The
Continental Societies, Inc.
