SMITHFIELD FARMS AND OPERATION MILITARY KIDS PRESENTS:

STARS, STRIPES & SADDLES A WEEK LONG DAY CAMP!

Offered to Air National Guard Youth ages 8 to 14 years old.
(The $295 fee for this program is waived thanks to the 4-H Air Force Partnership Grant.)

Smithfield Farms and OMK are partnering up to offer a week long day camp to youth who are experiencing the deployment of a loved one. In addition to the typical horse camp experience, we will offer special programming focused on being part of a military family in a safe and caring environment. The following information is a tentative outline for an average camp day: Working with your horse (learning proper techniques for ground work) Grooming and tacking up the horses as a team Formal scheduled lesson with Amanda and/or Carol Untacking horses and cooling them off as a team Cleaning and prepping a stall (done in teams) OMK related component Lunch Miniature Horse Time ~ A camp favorite! OMK related art/music activity On certain days: Games on horseback and Trail Riding

Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2013. Once an application has been approved, the participant will receive a list of items required for camp from Smithfield Farms.
