WELCOME
Friends of Snowsports (FOS) is a parent-led group whose purpose is to promote
skiing and snowboarding within Camberwell Grammar School (CGS). CGS
provides boys interested in the sport the opportunity to participate in a varied
program of events.

In the second week of the Term Two holidays the school conducts a family
Snowsports week where CGS families stay at Falls Creek Mountain. The focus
for this week is to create a fun and supportive community and is open to
experienced and first-time skiers and their families.

The focus of the winter season is the preparation for the Victorian Interschool
Snowsports Championships held in August.

This information book is provided to assist you in planning for the season.
Whether you are a first timer or have been part of the Snowsports team for
some time, our aim is to bring the boys and their families together for an
exciting season ahead.

In addition to this initial information kit, we are committed to regularly sharing

updates and information to help you plan your activities and to encourage high
participation in all our events throughout the year.

All official school activities for the boys - from training, qualifying events, and
interschool competition – will be communicated by CGS early in the year. This
will be done via Deeds and where appropriate direct to you.

We encourage families to join the Friends of Snowsport WhatsApp group and

we will keep you across social events, the family week event at Falls Creek, and
other activities.

Looking forward to hitting the slopes and welcoming existing and new families
back for an exciting season.

FAMILY WEEK & CAMBERWELL CUP
A highlight of the snow season is Family Week, which is held in the last week
of Term 2 holidays running from Monday-Friday 3rd -7th July. The Camberwell
Cup and race training is held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July.

Family Week is open to all CGS boys, their families, and friends. It is the
intention that CGS will run training throughout this week subject to instructor
availability.

FOS arranges social activities throughout the week to ensure this remains a
fantastic event for the CGS community.

The Camberwell Cup is run on the weekend and is open to boys, their siblings,
and parents. This event is compulsory for boys who intend to compete in the
Victorian Interschools Competition.

This is a very social and fun week, and we encourage you to attend. Last year
we had nearly 150 people involved representing around 55 families.
