From The Principal Dear Parents and Guardians, The 2013 School Production - The Storybook Tuesday 10th September On Tuesday evening this week the school staged The Storybook our school production which was conceived, written and choreographed by Angela Monardo the school performing Arts Teacher. It was truly a wonderful night which will long live in the memories of the students, parents and friends and family members who attended. I was really pleased to see that nearly all our 555 students were able to participate and perform on the big stage at Dallas Brooks in front of an audience of well over of 2,000 people. It takes a team effort to create such a successful event. Angela has had the full support from all staff and a number of parents. As principal I would like to thank everyone involved for making the production a spectacular success. I would also like to thank the parents, families and the wider school community who came along and attended the evening and helped create such a supportive and encouraging environment for the students to perform. In particular I was pleased to see past students attending some of whom I know would be running a critical, but supportive eye over the performance to see how it measured up to their own performance as a Wales Street student. It is a bit magical how the stage and performance space is transformed and the children become confident and skilled entertainers. I am certainly looking forward to the DVD so I can relive the moments and memories until 2015 where once again we will stage the Wales Street Production. Election Day BBQ and Cake stall On the Federal Election Day the school held a fund raiser BQ and Cake Stall. Congratulations to everyone involved as we raised $4,932.80 which was a wonderful effort. Thank you to the 70 people who volunteered on the day and also to those parents who contributed with cakes and biscuits for the stall. Chess Club Congratulations to the following students Ari Koutsoubos (gold), Harry Loulakis (Silver) and Chris Anastasiou (bronze) medal winners for this term. Credit Certificate to Sam Taliadouros and Certificate of Participation to Stavros Vlahopoulos, Oliver Manterfield, Yianni Markou, Lewis Manterfield, Akira Fujii, Bradley Shears, Otis Laurence and Isaac Bartley.
