Hi Everyone,

RIDDELL WRAP

I cant believe we are at the end of our first term in 2013. We have certainly managed to fit a lot in in a few short weeks. On Tuesday the whole school turned Japanese to celebrate the beginning of our Japanese language and culture programme. We began the day together with a drum and guitar duo which was very interactive and entertaining. Students participated in a range of Japanese activities throughout the day and enjoyed a lunch of sushi rolls. It was a fantastic day. Special thanks must go to Cathie McCulloch for organising and coordinating the event. Last week at our School Council AGM we thanked and farewelled retiring Councillors Simone Fisher, Luke Goodman and Dorothy Giusti. Nigel Worne is the newly elected School Council President. Other office bearers are Jude Ellis Vice President, Travis Barry Treasurer and Anna Paul Secretary. I would like to thank all School Councillors for their commitment to the school. It is mentioned elsewhere, but on Sunday we had an enormously productive working bee/maintenance morning. It is absolutely amazing what a few people can achieve in a few hours. Thank you all so much. There may be a few things happening in the grounds over the break, keep your eye out for developments. I hope everyone has a very happy and safe Easter break, especially if you are on the roads travelling. I am heading to Mildura for a few days on the Murray, cant wait! Holidays are always a prime time for mischief making in school grounds, if you notice anything untoward around the school, please contact the local police. Cheers,

Its OK to be away! Attendance 18/03/13 22/03/13

P.S Last Friday we were treated to another 3pm Project by MJF. The production goes from strength to strength and I saw lots of talent for our performance later in the year. A fantastic effort!

Thank you to the volunteers who fetched classes and inspected heads for head lice last week; out of close to 300 children, only 7 were found to have eggs and 2 had lice. If you received a notice about eggs or lice please try to keep on top of treatment. Because of the helpers, the inspections were all done by snack time. We raised $232 from hot cross bun vouchers well done everyone we hope you enjoy your toasted buttered buns over the weekend. The second part of fund raising over Easter is the chocolate raffle prizes which will be drawn at assembly, 2pm on Thursday 28th March. Be there!

Maintenance Morning 23rd March

A big thank you to the 9 families who turned out on a bright and sunny day. Whilst there were many hands there were some dedi cated individuals who went above and beyond providing vehicles/trailers/ tools etc. A special thanks to the Tinworth family for the use of their tractor, the Locketts for coordinating the slide removal and the Ben Claydon and Nigel Worne team with the chook shed demolition, Heide Hanson, Angela Dempsey, Vicki Turner and Mandy Stevens did an awesome job in the garden, pruning and tidying up. Thank you Leith for ably organising the activities and the Picking family taking all the tree prunings and rubbish !! Of course, a big thank you to all the students who came along too to help out and make sure the mums and dads stayed on task! So much was achieved and I think everyone went away feeling pleased with the effort.
