One hundred days is a
long time for these kids
and being in prep is a
very big deal last Friday
was about celebrating

amount that goes into preparing a
camp to ensure that every childs
needs are addressed as closely as
possible. Thanks also to Lynne
Noy, Kathy Boyd, Jacinta Kemp,
Andrew Devisser, Chezelle Conroy,
Zoe and Jodie for their fantastic
efforts in ensuring that the seventy
nine children who attended Adanac
camp had a time that they will
remember for years to come.

Adanac Camp
What a great time the children in
Grade1/2 had on camp! The
weather was challenging at times but
luckily the rain held off long enough
for everyone to have a go on the
Flying Fox. It is a great
achievement for children at this age
to spend a night away from home
so well done everyone on your
resilience and enthusiasm.
It is important to acknowledge
the time and effort put into
organising the camp by Kasey
staff make to our overall school
community.
The roles which our ES staff
perform are diverse and include
those who work in the front office,
those who work with individual
students in classrooms, those who
take care of the maintenance jobs
and those who provide specialist
assistance to students with special
needs. The one thing they have in
common is a desire to support the
school and to help our children and
our school community. They are
very dedicated, hard working
individuals who will do whatever it
takes to meet the staff and childrens
needs. They really help to make
August is the time that we formally
acknowledge the huge contribution
the ES staff make to the school
team.
All staff at our school work together
as a team, but ES month is a special
opportunity to acknowledge the
important contribution that our ES

LPPS an excellent place to work and
learn. Quite simply we could not
operate without these people. So
please take the time to stop and say
thank you to our wonderful ES
staff.

Aerobics
Tomorrow our Dark
Knights and
Popstars aerobics
teams are travelling to
the Gold Coast to
compete in the National Aerobics
championships, which are being
held on the 9
th
& 10
th
August. This
is an extremely exciting time for the
students and their families. The
chance to compete at a National
Level is nothing short of an
amazing feat. We wish you luck,
bust most of all enjoy every minute
of the experience. We know that you
will have fun
under the
watchful eye of
Miss Nyman, Mrs
Kemp and Mrs
Messerle.
Maths Awards
At Mondays assembly we were
thrilled to see three of our students
Hudson K, Nikola V and Chelsea S,
presented with certificates to
acknowledge their achievements in
Mathletics. This online learning tool
is exceptionally good for
consolidating childrens knowledge
of basic maths facts such as
automatic recall of multiplication.
Like all skills it is vital that children
get plenty of practice. Keep up the
good work everyone.

Parent Opinion Survey - Thanks

Thank you to the families who have
taken the time to provide important
feedback via the Parent Opinion
Survey. We have had an outstanding
response. Results will be received
next term and once discussed with
staff and school council, will be
in our groups. We have enjoyed
sharing our Commonwealth Games
articles and keeping track of how
many gold, silver and bronze medals
Australia has won.
Grade 5/6: We are enjoying our
Integrated topic The Human Body
and learnt lots of amazing facts
about our skeleton. We created
wonderful shape poems, writing
descriptions about chosen objects.
We revised length in Maths and
enjoyed measuring our heights. We
will be creating our own 3D
playground this week, focusing on
area and perimeter.
Principal: I had the pleasure of
attending the Grade 1/2 camp, and
was impressed by the behaviour of
all of the students. We have also had
a great response to the Parent
Opinion Survey. We have had 30
out of 40 returned.
School Captains Report
Prep: We have been having lots of
fun looking after our chickens. We
now have 17 little chicks. We
enjoyed celebrating our 100 days of
Prep on Friday. We had a party,
playing musical statues, we iced and
decorated biscuits and completed a
100 exercise challenge. We are
looking forward to learning our
production song and dance.
Grade 1/2: We had a fabulous time
on camp. So many kids had new
experiences and tried new things.
We loved all the activities and even
the weather didnt stop us having
fun. It was cold and wet and we still
did everything! All students behaved
beautifully, representing the school
well.
Grade 3/4: We are enjoying our mini
lessons during CAF reading
sessions. We have been working on
our news reports and making posters
