Repeat

for Q2 with different forceps and the corresponding solution.

Sterilize lab surface, wash hands, put on apron and goggles.

Choose 3 products (plus control - distilled water) and assign a number to each product. Use 1 mL of each.

Label prepared petri dish sections, add initials and class period.

Teacher adds 1 mL liquid E. coli.

Place lid on petri dish and swirl so the liquid covers the agar (1-5 minutes).

Use forceps to pick up a single sterile disk.

For the control quadrant, dip disk in distilled water and place in the middle of the Q1 quadrant.

Repeat for Q3 with different forceps and the corresponding solution.

Close petri dish, wait 5 minutes, Olip dish. Incubate for 48 hours at 37 degrees Celsius.

Sterilize tables and wash hands.

Repeat for Q4 with different forceps and the corresponding solution.

Measure zone of inhibition in 3 directions.

Record using ruler zone of inhibition measurements in Data Table: Zone of Inhibition.

If diameters are uneven, calculate the average.

Sterilize tables and wash hands.

Obtain same type of data from Q4.
