Schauer has been endorsed by a number of important Democrats. Bob King is the current president of the United Auto Workers. While working on the line or working for the UAW, he graduated from college and law school. He is one of the most respected labor leaders in America. He was a strong opponent of the Right-toWork law passed by Gov. Snyder and the Republicans. Jocelyn Benson is a law professor and was the Democratic candidate for Michigan Secretary of State, losing a narrow race in 2010.
This poll shows that if Bob King were to enter the race, he would be a strong candidate in the Democratic Primary. Now, we will have to see if he or anyone else joins the campaign against Mark Schauer, Mitchell concluded. -30-
