LANDesk Management Suite 9.0 offers a number of new enhancements to support ThinkVantage Technologies, including: Windows 7 Client Support All product functionality is supported and works on Windows 7 clients. The LANDesk inventory agent reports all Windows 7 software and hardware inventory data correctly. Please note that in previous versions of LANDesk Management Suite for ThinkVantage Technologies, Windows 7 data appears as Windows Vista software. Support for Windows 7 Versions of ThinkVantage Technologies All of the updated versions of ThinkVantage Technologies built for Windows 7 have been integrated into the product and are supported. Remote BIOS Configuration If a BIOS setting needs to be changed on one or more clients, administrators can: 1) modify BIOS settings remotely from the LANDesk Management Suite for ThinkVantage Technologies console; 2) create a BIOS change package; and 3) use software distribution technology to push the new BIOS change settings out to the clients. Examples of BIOS changes requested by customers include changing the boot order of the clients and enabling or disabling Intel vPro settings and Lenovo Hardware Password Manager settings. You save considerable time and costs by freeing administrators from having to visit each client to change BIOS settings. Access Connection WAN Inventory and Reporting Support for tracking WAN inventory and cell usage reporting information enables you to easily track and manage cell cards and accounts used for WAN connectivity. The WAN adapters detail includes Activation State, Activation Status, MEID number, and WAN phone number (used for billing). With this information, you can now recoup costs from unused devices.

ThinkVantage Productivity Center Customize the ThinkVantage blue button for help desks, including customized logos. Quickly launch links to programs and utilities in the Windows environment. ThinkVantage System Migration Assistant Automatically migrate employee-critical systems, desktop, and application settings from one system to another. Hardware Password Manager Remotely deploy and reset lost or forgotten hard drive passwords, including drives that are self-encrypting. Secure Managed Client Improve storage capacity and streamline PC image updates and patches by hosting a single PC image with a common operating system and applications in a central location for all Secure Managed Client-enabled desktops to access.
