    New Haven Mill Rate to be Lowered Due to Extra State Funds in Budget

    New Haven City Hall has informed me that the budget we adopted this weekend included
    more dollars for New Haven than anticipated.

    Due to the new estimates based upon the budget adopted by the House Sunday morning
    the city anticipates $6 million more in general fund revenue than the April 30 estimates
    by the Legislature’s Office of Fiscal Analysis which were used in the city budget adopted
    last Tuesday.

    Tonight, Monday, June 3, the Board of Aldermen will move to reconsider the budget to
    recognize this revenue and lower the mill rate by 1.08 mills.
