Community of Hope Fundraiser
Community of Hope is collecting old phone books to recycle as a fundraising project from May 6 through June 25. Books can be dropped off at First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry Street, or at Community of Hope, 2403 East South Blvd. Call Lou Ann Raughton (235-2634) or Jan Rowe (399-9993) to arrange for pick up. MBA Conversational English School Celebrates Another Year

The fellowship hall at First Baptist Church filled with excitement Thursday morning, May 9th as students and teachers prepared for the Conversational English graduation ceremony! Tears and hugs abounded as friendships, built over the school year, now faced looming departure as some students will return to their countries. Over 200 students completed the year and many shared how teachers and fellow students influenced them by their kindness and love. Child care workers spent one last time with their kids, rejoicing at their accomplishments. One mother asked a worker if she would come work for her full time since she did such a great job with her special needs child. What a compliment! To God be the Glory! After graduation, van drivers drove students home and said goodbye to them until next year. As many students return to their home countries this summer, they carry the experience of knowing Gods love in very tangible ways. Pray seeds of love come to fruition in all the students! Volunteers gathered for an appreciation luncheon to celebrate the year, remember special times, and pray for their students. They look forward to next Fall when it all begins again!
