great scientist should endeavor to prove the existence of the Lord on a scientific basis. Similarly, philosophical
speculations should be utilized to establish the Supreme Truth as sentient and all-powerful. Similarly, all other
branches of knowledge should always be engaged in the service of the Lord. In the Bhagavad-gita also the same
is affirmed. All "knowledge" not engaged in the service of the Lord is but nescience. Real utilization of
advanced knowledge is to establish the glories of the Lord, and that is the real import. Scientific knowledge
engaged in the service of the Lord and all similar activities are all factually hari-kirtana, or glorification of the
Lord.(SB1.5.22)

SIT Kowandwa hails VOICE
On 23rd Feb. 2008, Saturday, around 150 students
attended the seminar on Human Devolution. The
speaker proposed the Vedic alternative for origin of
humans, which states that the consciousness is
neither developed from matter, nor does it end
with matter, but the consciousness which is
originally of higher level gets covered by matter, as
when it is not coherent with the supreme
consciousness. He recommended a way of elevating
consciousness by processes of authorized religions
such as Islam, Christianity, Vedic dharma. He
stated that he personally follows chanting of
Vedic Hare Krishna mantra.
One student asked, “Just like you say that religion is
suppressed by modern science, in the history,
Galileo’s view was suppressed by church. Then
why to complain?” In reply, he said, “I don’t say to
completely remove Darwin’s theory and replace it
with religious one. But give at least 5% of space in
all text books to theistic theory as other alternatives
& let one of the theory win, by natural selection as
per Darwin's theory!” The audience applauded with
praise and cheers.

again. This time we had seminar on “Positive
mental attitude”- by Sreeram a VOICE alumina
from Reliance Petroleum. Almost 100 students
attended the program. It was amazing to see that the
whole program was arranged and managed by the
students themselves. One of the students from 11th
std Mr Sarang was so inspired that he visited the
VOICE centre at IIT Kharagpur in order to learn
the lifestyle of a VOICE student.
Over 100 students are chanting Hare Krishna
mantra regularly. It shows that actually people are
looking for some alternatives in their lives to
become happy. What can be better alternative than
taking to Krishna Consciousness?
