Usshers Dates of St John & Jesus: by O. P. Armstrong, June 2013 Bishop Usshers Account of St.

John the Baptist & Jesus

The following table presents a concise overview of Bishop Usshers accounting of John and Jesus in about 70 single line points. These points are referenced to Usshers paragraph numbers 6061 to 6484. Clearly there are skips of what was considered material of lesser importance. The Ussher account of John and Jesus was presented in the 1658AD publication: The Annals of The World. This synopsis starts in year 4BC with Jesus birth, about 6 months after Johns birth. It jumps to year 26AD with Johns calling in the Wilderness to proclaim the Favorable Year. Johns arrest and imprisonment for public denouncement of Herod Agrippa-IIs incest, is listed to be in year 30AD. Usshers history places Johns baptism ministry at four years. The four year time frame compares favorably with the parable of the unfruitful fig tree. That parable clearly covers a space of four (4) years, not three as some may wish to surmise. Furthermore, it states, after the 4th year, cut it down. The after the 4th year would seem to point towards Christ ministry or after Johns work. A further hint may be the sayings of Jesus himself, for until John were Moses and the Prophets, afterward the Kingdom of God is proclaimed. Jesus himself said, if I cast out devils by the finger of God, then the Kingdom of God is come. And again he says the new wine (Kingdom) cannot be put in old wineskins (Law). Ussher places Johns beheading in the year 32 AD. Ussher places the Baptism of Jesus by John in river Jordon when Jesus was about age 30 to the year 27AD. He chronicles the public ministry of Jesus to begin from the year 30AD, paragraph 6302. There follow four (4) Passovers, 30AD, 31AD, 32AD, and 33AD, in the year of Jesus death and resurrection. From a Balfour Century perspective, Usshers chronology of Jesus year of Baptism is important. This is because the Baptism of Jesus in year 27AD is the benchmark of TBC timeline calibration. The summary of Usshers chronology follows below.
