The majority of Common Core Technology Initiative Project Team jobs are now filled. We are
in the process of determining start dates.
Remaining jobs are in either the recruitment, interview, or selection stage. The VLC
Readiness Facilitator position was re-opened until 6/19/13 in order to recruit more
candidates.

We selected Apple Inc. to be the Devices vendor and are currently in contract negotiations
Learning Management System product demos were completed at the end of May
We sent out an RFP for Physical Security Planning and Analysis on 6/13/13 to help us
access make recommendations around physical security for devices.

Upcoming:
Presentation of Device Vendor Selection for Board Approval is scheduled for 6/18/13
We are preparing to enter into negotiations with selected Mobile Device Management

Updates:
We held a conference call with the Principals of the 47 Phase 1 Schools on June 11, 2013
updating them on the project and answering their questions.
We provided an update to the Facilities, Audit, and Budget Committee on May 28, 2013.

Updates:
6 of the 13 Schools for the Future received devices this Spring. The remaining 7 schools
opted to rollout at the start of the 2013-14 school year.
All devices that were deployed have been picked up and stored at our Pico warehouse for the
summer as of June 17th, 2013.
Upcoming:
We are working on ensuring that the 13 Schools for the Future schools are integrated into the
overall Common Core Technology Initiative for the start of the 2013-14 school year.
Planning for Phase 1 rollout continues.

Updates:
All Phase 1 schools will be ready for 1:1 computing by August 2013. Please find additional
details on Phase 1 schools on the next page.
49% of schools in Phase 1 (23 schools) are ready for 1:1 computing now.

Upcoming:
The Facilities and Information Technology teams continue to meet twice weekly to plan and
schedule for all schools to be completed in Phases 2 and 3.
