Saturday 6 July 2013Delectable Shelter
Delectable Shelter is a riotous, no-holds-barred portrait of western society, facing the end of the world as they know it. In a bunker deep under the Earth's surface, thelast five humans are left after ``the end of the world''. Their job is to ensure the human racesurvives for the 350 years it takes before it is safe to return to the surface. As these five verydifferent individuals plan their utopian society they introduce a hilarious breeding program.Their daftness contrasts with the darkness of the underground; all culminating in a purelyhilarious gospel choir belting out 80’s love ballads. “The performances are excellent” TheAge. Originally produced by The Hayloft Project and Theatre Works. Cost on entry.Approximately 90 minutes, no interval. Warning: Performance contains coarse language, adult themes, sexual references, smoking & 80s music. This event is part of the Glenelg ShireCouncil Arts Program.
