A. What is Campus Journalism?

- Campus journalism is defined as that enjoyable activity of the staff of the campus paper in collecting,
organizing and presenting news, writing editorials, columns, features, and literary articles, taking
pictures, cartooning, copy reading, proofreading, dummying & writing headlines.

B.How important is Campus Journalism in your life as a learner?

- Campus journalism helps student become more aware of what's happening around them. They learn
how to become responsive and proactive citizens at a young age. Additionally, it helps and trains
students to become responsible. Student journalists are taught and trained to practice fairness, balance,
and truthfulness.

C.How different is Journalism from Campus Journalism?

- Journalism is the production and distribution of reports on current events based on facts and
supported with proof or evidence. The word journalism applies to the occupation, as well as citizen
journalists who gather and publish information based on facts and supported with proof or evidence
while Campus Journalism gives students the opportunity to hone and practice their journalistic skills,
and be the voice of change by getting readers to think about pressing issues that they probably wouldn’t
have read anywhere else. Certain student communities also look to expand their horizons beyond just
the campus, and discuss topics such as gender equality, human rights or even the protection of animals.

D. What is the scope of Campus Journalism?

- Based on the medium of news delivery, journalism can be divided into three types: TV and Radio
Journalism/ Broadcast Journalism, Print Journalism, and Online Journalism.

B.How important is the learning about the campus journalism?

-Campus journalism plays an important role in the academe. It trains studentsto be responsible
members of the society. Thus, they should be continually trained to produce a paper that is fair,
balanced and investigative. Hence, this study is conceptualized to identify the level of journalistic merits
of student publications and the level of campus journalism factors and their relationship.

C. As a future teacher, how do you think it is the best to teach Campus Journalism to learners?

- One of the biggest benefits of campus journalism is that you never get into trouble, unlike the case
with mainstream media in society. However, this does not mean that reportage has ‘no limits’. Campus
newspapers and magazines have established certain boundaries and authorities can even take action
should these boundaries be crossed.It gives students the opportunity to hone and practice their
journalistic skills, and be the voice of change by getting readers to think about pressing issues that they
probably wouldn’t have read anywhere else. Certain student communities also look to expand their
horizons beyond just the campus, and discuss topics such as gender equality, human rights or even the
protection of animals.
