After weeks of sorting, counting and verifying thousands of ballots in 180 categories, the 14th annual readers poll is complete. Readers had two ways to vote for their favorite businesses in 2008. Ballots were available at the Caller-Times Best of the Best Showcase in October at the American Bank Center and through ballots placed in three issues of the Caller-Times in October. The top vote-recipient in each category has been selected as the CallerTimes Best of the Best #1 and the next highest vote-getters have been named Readers Choice and are listed in alphabetical order. We have added some new categories and eliminated some that did not get enough voter attention. Remember, the Best of the Best winners are selected by our readers, not by the staff of the
Caller-Times.
