Anne Frank (1929- 1945)
Anne Frank was born to the parents of Otto Frank and Edith Hollander in 1929.She was born in Frankfurt am Main, Weimar Germany. ___________________________________________________________________As a child she was Jewish. She hadmany friends that were Jewish too. Anneand her friends were about 10 years oldwhen Adolph Hitler came into power of Germany. He was made head orpresident of the group he was in calledthe Nazis. Soon Hitler came to theconclusion that Jewish people were thecause to any sickness or any bad feelingto Germans. ___________________________________________________________________Hitler started making rules that Jewishpeople couldn't go certain places likeparks or even sit on public benches.Anne and her friends liked to go to themovies and walk to friends houses, butas Hitler gained more power and mademore rules Anne and her friends couldn'tgo see movies anymore. _______________________________________________________________________Hitler soon made Jews wear the yellowstar of David that said
"Jude" 
meaningJewish. Every Jew had to wear one,including Anne, on their coats and alltheir clothes that were visable to thepublic. If the Jews didn't wear the starsthey would be put in prison, or evenworse, killed. In Anne's village orneighborhood even people who were notJewish were wearing the stars, standingup for the Jews. ______________________________________________________________________The Nazis were angered by this. Theyhated it so they started taking the non- jews who wore the star of David toconcentration camps in Auchwitz. At the
 
camps the had jobs, very hard, jobs forthe prisoners that worked them to death.They also had prison cells. But worst of all they had gas chambers. _______________________________________________________________________Hitler made the Jews go todifferent schools then the non- jewishchildren. Anne and her sister Margotwent to Jewish Secondary School nowknown as the Anne Frank School. In1942 Anne and her family went intohiding in the top two floors of OttoFrank's office building along with the VanPels family. While in hiding anotherperson joined the Frank and Van Pelsfamilies in hiding. His name was FritzPfeffer. He was a dentist. _______________________________________________________________________The Franks went into hiding becauseMargot Frank got a call up notice to workfor the Nazis in Germany atconcentration camps. _______________________________________________________________________ In hiding the Franks, Van Pels, andPfeffer had 4 helpers who got them therethings like, books, news, and food.During the day the Anne had to be silentand sitting still in her room even if shehad to use the bathroom because if theworkers were in the building theycouldn't walk around because it made tomuch noise or use the sink or the toiletbecause it would mean that they werehiding. During these long silences OttoFrank and Hermann Van Pels, thefather's of the children Margot and AnneFrank and Peter Van Pels, would give thechildren work to do like Mathematicsproblems and Reading work becauseAnne, Margot, nor Peter could go toschool. _______________________________________________________________________ On August 4th 1944 Anne was helpingPeter with his studies when all of thesudden a man came up the staircasehollering with a gun pointed at the
