EUCATION (LEARNING AND TEACHING) AS ART

EMPHASIS ON BUSINESS EDUCATION (Called: Artisian Eductaion, learning, teaching and researching)

Business is taught in several ways around the world. There is the case study method. Role playing like in Babson, theory workshops and tests like in most universities. Desserttaions and oral exams (viva), however are they all the right way? Considering business is a skill, a creative human skill perhaps we can borrow from other dispclines on how it shoud be taught. For years science lead business teaching, than it seems social sicneces or maybe humanities did. Perhpps ART should be given a try. Let us look at music. This might not be the best way, however it can show us a new directiin, a new alternative,

When we start learning music, we are given theory, music theory. Which we study and study. This is similar to us being given books and articles to read, to understand what is happening in the world. In music education, theory is not critiqued, however in business it is which is a good thing.

However this theory doesnt come into use in business (although in U of T and others it does). In music however, the next step is to play a paiticualr song on an instrument. Once you are able to read, you can play it on an instrument and so on. The empahiss is on playing not the theory, while at leats in Glamorgan, there is empaiss on theory, on critiquing theory, leanring and critiquing what others do and then doing it in writing, in theory , in exams and stuff. It is seen as a mind skill not a mind body skill A song or tune is matsered by repetition, until one learns all in theory and replicates it iin rela life. Ultiately they then make something unique. U the whole thing of many songs until u understand eac bits and piece n know how it goes toget or vice versa (mayb amateurs do it this way. (then there is the lay mans trial and error way too, that ameturs leanr wid) We do not mean, that it shod be replicated exactly but the element of techaing by doing, replicating, innovating and using feedback, peer andteacher and almost appentcemntshiop (mentor( reltainshio can be good.
