This delightful little baby jacket is started by casting on and knitting the right half of the jacket first.
Then you will pick up stitches and cast on for the left half. It is finished off with i-cord ties.
Size: 3-6 months (a larger size can be made with larger yarn and corresponding needles)
Materials: One 100g skein of Araucania Ranco Multi (376yd)
Abbreviations:
K= knit P= purl S1= slip one st. purlways KFB= knit into the front and back (increases one st.)
K2togTbl= knit 2 sts together through the back loops.
DD = Double decrease worked by slipping 1 stitch knitways, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch
over.
I-cord Trim
With double pointed needles, cast on 4sts.
Knit, don't turn. Slide the sts back to the
beginning of the needle and k the row again.
Continue until the cord is approx. 7.5”. Next
row: K2, K2togTbl, pick up and K one st. at right
front neck shaping. Slide sts back to the
beginning of the needle. Repeat this last row,
picking up and knitting in every slipped stitch
along remainder of right neck, back neck and
left neck. Next row: Knit, don’t turn. Slide sts
back to the beginning of the needle and knit the
row again. Repeat this last row until the cord is
the same length as the first section of cord. End
off by threading yarn through the 4sts.
