Layout 1: Happy Birthday

Instructions:
Cut the Elle's Studio Big Dot pattern paper to 12 x 7.5 inches from the bottom edge making sure to keep the star strip on the bottom (the strip is also known as the upc.) Cut the Elle's Studio High Five Star pattern paper to 5 x 12 inches. Tape the 2 papers together on the back side, making sure the layout is square at 12 x 12 inches. Trim the bottom edge (the strip is known as the upc) of the Elle's Studio Letters and Numbers pattern paper. Adhere the strip across the seam. You can fancy cut the scallops if wish. I left it white because it was boyish layout and thought that might make it look to fancy. Cut 2 - 6.25 x 4.25 inch photo mats from white cardstock (not included in the kit) and cut a photo strip mat to 8.5 x 2.25 inches. Center 2 - 4 x 6 photographs on the 6.25 x 4.25 white cardstock mat. Adhere them to the lower right edge of the layout as shown. Leave about 1/16 inch on the right edge, just so the green pattern paper peeks out a little bit. Dress up a couple of the edges with the blue star washi tape.

This picture shows the detailing of the upper right edge of the layout. The arrows are hand-cut from the Elle's Studio Letters and Number pattern paper. Feel free to cut and layer the arrows as preferred, mixing up the arrow colors and sizes. Place the "snapshot details" Elle's Studio label on the top edge. I used a technique to make the printed black line look like stitching by poking little holes every few mm along the printed stitched line.

Now for the title of the layout... Using a few pop-dots, adhere the "the perfect day" Chic Tag about 5 inches from the bottom edge of the layout and center it between the left edge and the first photo mat. Apply the Echo Park alphabet stickers so the title reads "Happy Birthday." Place the Echo Park "Currently..." sticker under the title portion. Layer the green 'life documented" sticker on the lower edge. Embellish with a few of the MME enamel dots.

Between the photos on the lower portion cut out the birthday age from the Elle's Studio Letters and Numbers pattern paper. Place directly in the center using pop-dots. Add an enamel dot after the number. To the left of the number use a stack of 2 pop dots to the "this" Elle's Studio tidbits. This will give it some extra height and adhere as shown overlapping the number. Trim out the 'my boy' label from the Ell's Studio cutout sheet and slid it under the circle tidbit. In the end this should read something like "My boy, this age 8."

This picture shows the details of the upper left side. The "film strip" cardstock is placed flush with the left edge and about 1.75 inches from the top. For added texture rip off some washi tape pieces and add it to the corners. Tuck the bottom edge of the "today was the best day ever" Echo Park sticker behind the film strip matte. Place the "remember the moment" sticker above it. Add the 2 tiny arrows as shown. Pointing to the "remember this moment" subtitle.

Layout 2: Friends Forever

Instructions:
Trim the teal cardstock to 8.5 x 11 inches. Trim the Carta Bella Friends Forever pattern paper to 8.25 x 9. Coloring will vary depending on which section of the paper you use. Adhere to the cardstock leaving about 1/8 inch on the upper, left and right edges. Cut a piece of My Mind's Eye Oxford Lane Polka pattern paper (using the striped side) to 3 x 8.25. Adhere to the bottom portion of the layout, leaving 1/8 inch on the upper, left and right edges. Cut a strip off the Elle's Studio High Five pattern paper, make sure you look at the text and pick a line that goes with your layout.

To embellish the lower portion of the layout, start with the title: Friends Forever using the American Crafts Thickers. Indent the first word inch from the left edge. Add an Elles Studio cutout as shown and layer with the cork arrow. The edge of the arrow will need to be trimmed, add the trimmed edge to the end of the title. If you have a piece of twine on hand wrap it around the layout as shown 3 times and knot it off center. Place a flair on the right edge. The Memo: caption is from the Elles Studio cutouts. The rest of the space is for journaling. Once journaling is complete embellish with a few of the Freckled Fawn Dew Drops.

To embellish the upper portion of the layout: Add a photo mat about 2 1/8 inches from the top and 1/8 inch from the left edge. The photo mat is 4.25 x 6.25 inch. There are 2 different photo options: 1 - 4 x 6 or 23 x 4 inch. Above the photo about inch from the right edge, adhere an Elles Studio cutout and futer embellish with pieces of the other cut-outs and stickers. For added texture stitch or staple the cut-outs together.

Tuck the Happy Times Elles Studio cutout under the green pattern paper about 3.75 inches from the left edge. Cut 2 photo mats from white cardstock: 4.25 x 6.25 and 4.25 x 4.25. Adhere the 4.25 x 4.25 to the left edge and center the 6.25 x 4.25 photo mat on the remaining green pattern paper, add picture to the photo mat.
