Ancient Egypt is a fascinating place that hides many secrets, like how they make pyramids. If you know the answer to that then here are 5 facts you may not know.

INTRO

EGYPTIANS LOVED BOARD GAMES


the most popular was a game of chance known as Senet. It was played on a long board painted with 30 squares. Each player had a set of pieces that were moved along the board depending on rolls of the dice or the throwing sticks.

CLEOPATRA WAS NOT EGYPTIAN


Cleopatra is perhaps the most famous Egyptian ever . Though she was born in Alexandria, Cleopatra was actually part of a long line of Greek Macedonians that originally descended from Ptolemy I.

Both sexes wore perfumes made from oil, myrrh and cinnamon. The Egyptians believed their makeup had magical healing powers, and they werent entirely wrong: Research has shown that the leadbased cosmetics worn along the Nile actually helped keep away eye infections.

The Egyptians saw animals as incarnations of the gods and were fond of cats, which were associated with the goddess Bastet.

The Hittites and Egyptians were ancient enemies, to try and claim Syrian lands they were having heaps of battles. But as no clear winner emerged and there were to many threatening outsiders Ramses II and the Hittite King Hattusili III negotiated a famous peace treaty.
