Dear Mayor, Please read the solicitation for "Al Fresco" opposition from Walter and Sarah Brown below. For your information, the Planning Board unanimously approved the change to the existing City Ordinance. I plan to vigorously uphold my position of support (as a City Council representative) as well as share my excitement about the innovative use of the highly visible corner. I will not be able to vote, as I am the architect of record. Brian February 26 2012 BACKGROUND Last week Pensacola's Planning Board reviewed and approved a plan submitted by owners of the southwest corner property that is bordered by Main Street & South Palafox Street. This plan calls for 'permanently' installing four Airstream trailers retrofitted to serve a variety of food at that location, creating a kind of 'food court'. If you believe, as we do, that South Palafox Street is a Core section of downtown Pensacola, and thus deserves to showcase some of the best of our city's history, culture and identity, then perhaps you agree with us that a line of Airstream trailers is incompatible with the site applied for. On March 8th at 530pm this application will likely be scheduled for First Review by Pensacola's City Council. We believe that absent sufficient opposition from those of us who have invested downtown, or who simply live somewhere in our fine city, this application may well be approved. Since this application includes a change to existing City Ordinance (Code), its passage would simultaneously open the door to more sites along South Palafox Street that could host similar food courts featuring Airstream trailers, or worse. In other words, we believe that approval of this application carries seeds that could easily germinate into a 'seedy' appearance along this important downtown corridor that is receiving increasingly fine investment and development today, as it has over the last decade or so.

PLEASE, if you Agree with our concerns above, then: 1. REPLY to this email by typing your name just after the colon below. TYPE YOUR NAME HERE: I AGREE THAT TRAILER BASED FOOD COURTS DO NOT BELONG IN THE PALAFOX CORRIDOR.

2. ATTEND CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MARCH 8, SO AS TO VISIBLY REINFORCE YOUR OBJECTION BY YOUR PRESENCE.
