Mr President, respectable teachers and my dear fellow students Today, I am fortunate enough for having been chosen to speak on an issue which is nothing but a reality, an undeniable fact and no doubt, something we all accept. Before I began my argument in favor of the topic, let me express my sympathy with those of my friends, who have daunting challenge of reasoning against the power of nature which always sets its own course. Respectable audience Mankind in every part of the world belonging to all generations, races, colors, areas and tribes have some peculiar qualities such as high ambitions, numerous desires and unending plans. Human beings always seek best and they aspire for greater achievements as they strive hard to attain what they look for. May I ask from my opponents, do all who try for something succeed in achieving their desire? I am afraid; the answer would be in negative. This is where fate comes in and the nature plays its part, as few succeed while some others fail despite similar efforts. Honorable President and Respectable audience History of mankind is full of incidents where fate led people to unexpected destinations. Many a times, decisions and courses that appeared to be a recipe of failures turned in to memorable successes. Alternatively, there are many instance where desired objectives were never attained despite had work, dedication and sincerity of effort. Let me explain myself with a very simple argument; I may be lucky enough to have the opportunity of studying in one of the top schools with best teachers. But someone, somewhere in a small village of Pakistan may be more capable and intelligent compared to me but he may not have fate similar to most of us. Dont you think most of us studying here, may have the aspiration of becoming doctor, engineer etcetera but only some of us will achieve that aim despite similar efforts, as we all may not have the same fates? Nature thus plays its part while offering unexpected openings to some, while depriving few others of similar opportunities. Respectable audience I, by no means say that the attributes of hard work and dedication has no role to play in human achievements. I mean to say there is a fine point between what appears on the surface and what lies beneath it. It is link between cause and effects. Usually we know about the outcome, the end, and the effects of a particular act. Even if we bother to look further deep, we just find the answer in individual struggle and hard work. It is very rare that we could see the hidden but powerful hand of nature that plays a vital role in mans successes and achievements. It is a well known conclusion by the philosophers and historians, the man is a slave of his time and space. Nature shapes the events and man reaps the successful results. It is the powerful hands of fate that pushes a man near to those peaks where he gets the pride to

2 conquer them. History is replete with facts that many men of fame achieve glory through sheer acts of fate and destiny. Mr President, my point here is not to undermine the great struggle which these men had carried out, but just to expanse another facet of reality. Who could have remember Newton if that fateful apple had decided to hold firm with the branch or delay the fall till Newton had left the place. I am sure, it was the fate and destiny that brought Newton beneath that particular apple tree and let that firm apple to fall on his head that caused him the pain and vision to discover Force of Gravity. Dear audience Just think of Columbus. If he had not lost his way to India, the world might have remained unaware of America. It was, indeed the powerful hand of fate which brought fame and fortune for Columbus by misguiding him. Great Nelson Mandella, spent his childhood in a far flung African tribe. He was friend of the son of a tribal chief who decided to run away from his tribe. Mandela accompanied him, saw the city life of South Africa and led a long struggle against white rulers. What if treble chiefs son had decided to stay at his place forever! Surely, it was the fate and destiny which led Mandela on a path to glory and prestige. Worthy Mr President and respectable audience My argument here is not weight for the invisible hand of fate all the time for your achievements in life. My point here is that when fate presents you an opportunity and a chance do not let it go waste. But when nature brings you face to face with some great challenge, never lose your heart. Just think and take it as a Natures way to put you on the path of success and glory. Grab the opportunity with both hands and step forward. Let me conclude by saying, fate cast its dice in your favor, at least once in every ones life. It is you who have to be vigilant enough to understand the invisible signs. Do not let the opportune moments to slip away. Ride on, harness the wild forces, and walk on to conquer, to surmount, and on the path of success and glory. Fate and circumstance will be with you.
