VEHICLE SAFETY
Lend Lease is committed to ensuring all construction vehicles operate safely when delivering to and from the site. We will ensure all suppliers and contractors operating Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) achieve a minimum of a bronze standard with the Freight Owners Recognition Scheme (FORS) along with the Safe Urban Driving (SUD) training course, both operated by TfL prior to accessing our construction site. For more information, visit the following websites:
Lend Lease is committed to working with Southwark Council and the local community to ensure that we minimise the impact of our works during the construction process. Safety is our number one priority and Lend Lease operates an Incident & Injury Free culture on all of our sites. All Lend Lease sites are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
of haul road and pit lane to enable one way access across the site from Rodney Road. Commence the installation of the building envelope including windows.
TRAFFIC CHANGES The new site access road from Rodney Road through to Balfour Street opened in late September. This new access will reduce the traffic along Balfour Street as vehicles will no longer enter from here, only using it as an exit. They will also be able to enter the pit lane prior to exiting onto Rodney Road.
WINTER 2013/14
Works
on the building faade begin, fitout of the first building starts and the power substation becomes operational.
SPRING/SUMMER 2015
The
site gets ready for occupation, with practical completion due in early summer 2015.
QUESTION 2/
How does Lend Lease control noise from the site? As a member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, Lend Lease is committed to using the safest and least disruptive construction methods possible. We regularly monitor the noise that the construction activity generates and ensure that we work within pre-agreed noise limits. We also ensure that all machinery is serviced correctly and plan all our tasks in advance using tried and tested methods. However, we are also always looking out for better (and quieter) ways of building. If you have any questions or concerns regarding noise, please contact 020 3600 0001.

The Heygate demolition will begin from late September 2013 and will take place over the next 15 months. It involves careful clearance and dismantling of the buildings interiors, before the exteriors start to come down in early 2014. Residents around the Heygate will receive a letter shortly to explain the demolition has started and how it will impact the area. We will keep you updated throughout the demolition with our newsletter and regular mail outs.
