++ Regarding KJV Bibles the Cambridge (Pure Cambridge Edition) text is most likely the best KJV Bible

but they are almost impossible to find, while the Cambridge Concord Edition and the Cambridge Pitt Minion Edition are also very good. I ordered one of the pocket KJV Pitt Minions listed below and it passed the checklist at the bottom of this document. Beware of Altered King James Bibles

Sermon Overview: King James Bible believers are faced with an array of problems to day. Of course we all know that the multiplicity of all the new modern versions are a big problem, but another little known problem is the fact that many of the worldly publishing companies are publishing Bibles and calling them King James Bibles Dr. Scott Johnson when in actuality they are not true King James Bible. Because the King James Bible is in the public domain and not copyrighted (In all places other than England), these worldly publishing companies think they can make minor changes to the standard text so that they can please certain groups which translates into extra sales for them. Today you can still find true King James Bibles but you must proceed with caution. You will be hard pressed to find it at all in any typical Christian book store (or other stores for that matter) without some alterations to the text Cambridge University Press printed the PCE (PURE CAMBRIDGE EDITION) between about 1900 and about 1980. There are millions of them around. It is possible to find nice second hand copies. Proverbs 30:5-6: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

I can confirm what vicks is saying about the TBS Calfskin Family Bible. I also have a copy of this Bible and vicks's post prompted me to check this. This TBS Calfskin Bible has the exact same pagination and text size as my Cambridge plain text large print hardback Bible. In fact it looks like it came off the exact same press plates. However I can find only one difference. My Cambridge plain text large print hardback has "Spirit" in 1 John 5:8 while the TBS Calfskin Family Bible has "spirit" in 1 John 5:8. I did not bother to check the TBS Calfskin because the pagination was clearly identical. Thanks to vicks I know there is a different and I am pleasantly suprised that this superb Bible is a PCE. The text is very clear, large and the paper is as opaque as I have seen. Much better than the hardback Cambridge. _________________ Your friend in Christ Jesus

Note that Cambridge/TBS have changed to the Concord edition, which means that if you happen to order from a place that has the old copies, it will be PCE, otherwise you will end up getting a Concord. It could be called by the same name, e.g. "Black Leather Pitt Minion" or "Calfskin Leather Large Print Plain Family" or whatever. If they happen to have old ones at their warehouse/store they will be PCE, but if newer, they will not be PCE. _________________ Matthew Verschuur www.bibleprotector.com

If you get a later edition of the TBS Calfskin Family Bible, the ISBN numbers will be different, and it will have a later publishing date.

Was looking for a bible to give to someone as a gift whilst the plans to print PCE's was underway so I ordered a few different plain text bibles from the Australia TBS organisation. Turns out the Large Print Family Bible (9CFR) lines up with all the checkpoints that Matt lists on his website, including the Ezra 2:26 Geba one.

Here's the bible: http://www.tbs-sales.org/site/sales/category.asp?id=138 and the Australian TBS site: http://www.trinitarianbiblesociety.org.au I'm not sure if all the 9CFR's that the TBS are supplying are all PCE's but the one that just got sent to me today from the Australian office is. All their other plain text bibles, including the Windsor Text and Ruby Text were not PCE's.

Post subject: Are some World Bibles PCE?

I have a pocket size World Bible that is the smallest I have ever seen. It is the size of a casset tape case and fits easily into almost any pocket. I actually have two of them. One is genuine leather while the other is vinyl cased. I have tried to test this Bible to see if it is PCE and it has passed every test. Is anyone here aware of this Bible? Can you verify that it is PCE? The number on the Bible's spine is 891. The number inside is 800-10-50911. The following links appear to be the same thing or similar: http://www.amazon.com/Smallest-Pocket-Bible-KJV-Version/dp/0529058383/ref=ed_oe_o http://www.alibris.com/booksearch.detail?S=R&bid=9313295403&cm_mmc=shopcompare -_-base-_-aisbn-_-na

Hello Blake. If the Bible matches up to the tests, it is a PCE. I have a Collins printed little Bible, which has "WS801" and it seems identical to the layout of the first link you provided: The one on the amazon link is a PCE. The other link does not work (because it is a link of a search, not a fixed page). All the best.

KING JAMES BIBLE: PURE CAMBRIDGE EDITION (PCE)

"...Thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (Psalm 138:2).
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Bible/KJB/pce.htm The Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible is Gods providentially appointed Word for the whole world which reveals the name of the Father as Jehovah, and the name of His Son, Jesus, in Whom there is salvation, and the name of the Holy Ghost, Who indwells every bornagain Christian believer.

The standard text of the Cambridge Edition of the King James Bible has been published on this website. You are free to download this definitive electronic text of the King James Bible (KJB). The actual King James Bible text of the Pure Cambridge Edition (PCE) has been presented free of any typographical error, and is completely correct. It is scrupulously exact in typesetting right down to the italics and punctuation.

This precise edition of the King James Bible is wholly based on the received traditional text as was published by Cambridge University Press. God's Word is necessary for true salvation. The English Bible has been providentially raised up by God for a great dissemination of the true Gospel.

The Pure Cambridge Edition (first published circa 1900) is the product of the process of textual editing that has occurred since 1611 when the Authorized Version was completed. Please note that there've been no revisions of the Bible since the authorized 1611 King James Bible was first released, only editions (such as spelling standardization). There is nothing wrong with the unedited Authorized 1611 King James Bible. It contains no errors. The standardization of English words does not mean that there are any errors in the original work.

Some people refer to the Cambridge Edition as the Pure Cambridge Edition, but the word pure is improper, because the Words of the Lord are pure (Psalm 12:6-8). To refer to the

Cambridge Edition as pure implies the the Authorized 1611 King James Bible is less pure or impure. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Authorized 1611 King James Version is pure, because God's Word is pure and the actual translation of the King James Bible has NOT been revised since 1611. So I deliberately refrain from using the word pure in reference to any particular edition of the King James Bible, because the original Authorized 1611 King James Bible is as 100% pure as the Cambridge Edition. My intent here is not to diminish the impeccable quality of the Cambridge Edition; but rather, to uphold the integrity, purity, inspiration and inerrancy of the Authorized 1611 Edition.

Also note that the original autographs of the Scriptures were in Heaven before God ever spoke the universe into existence. Psalm 119:89, "For ever, O LORD, Thy word is settled in heaven." Thus, the originals do not exist in Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic; but rather, in Heaven where they are settled forever. Before God ever created mankind, the last Word of Revelation was already recorded in Heaven. God's Words are inspired in any language. Don't let anyone discourage you by falsely claiming that the Authorized 1611 King James Bible is less than perfect. It is more than a masterpiece, or the best translation, it is God's perfect and inspired Word! The Cambridge Edition is simply a standardized English copy of God's perfect Word, which He wondrously gave to us in 1611.

The King James Bible is inspired and preserved. God's Word is inspired into whatever language it is translated. God never promised to inspire a language; but rather, His Words (Psalm 12:6-8). The Words of the Lord are pure. Those pseudo-scholars today who claim that only the Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic are inspired are WRONG, because God's Word is inspired in English or any other language it is translated into. God's Words were given by inspiration. God promised to preserve those inspired Words and they will always be inspired. A man who teaches that the King James Bible is not inspired is a liar.

A ready for print file of the King James Bible in Plain Text Minion has been presented. Utilize this for printing and binding your own Bible(s). Using paper thinner than 80gsm is strongly recommended. ARE EARLIER EDITIONS OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE INERRANT?

Yes, absolutely! A typographical error is not actually an "error" in the Bible, because it is only a presentation error. The fact is that any KJB (of the proper tradition) is still presenting the same text and translation that is correct. The issue is not about "errancy," but about presentation. Since we do have an inerrant text and translation, yet there are many differing editions of it, we also want to have the edition which has the standard spelling. As a whole, the Cambridge Edition is this. Use this checklist to ascertain whether the Bible is a Cambridge Edition: 1. or Sheba not and Sheba in Joshua 19:2 2. sin not sins in 2nd Chronicles 33:19 3. Spirit of God not spirit of God in Job 33:4 4. whom ye not whom he in Jeremiah 34:16 5. Spirit of God not spirit of God in Ezekiel 11:24 6. flieth not fleeth in Nahum 3:16 7. Spirit not spirit in Matthew 4:1 8. further not farther in Matthew 26:39 9. bewrayeth not betrayeth in Matthew 26:73 10. Spirit not spirit in Mark 1:12 11. spirit not Spirit in Acts 11:28
