The Birth of the Hispanic Political Experience RECEPTION - November 21, 2013
LULAC Council 60, of Houston, Texas, will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of President John F. Kennedys visit with LULAC and the National Hispanic Community at a Reception on Thursday, November 21, 2013, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Rice Lofts (formerly the Rice Hotel), 909 Texas Ave. Houston, Texas 77002. John Quinones, ABC News Correspondent, will be the Master of Ceremonies.
An educational symposium will be held at the University of Houston Hilton Hotel, Flamingo Room, on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, from 123 p.m. Discussions will focus on the historical and political significance of President Kennedys appearance. The symposium is hosted by Dr. Tatcho Mindiola, Director of Mexican American Studies Program at the University of Houston and the Hon. Lupe S. Salinas, Retired Criminal Court Judge and Professor of Law at Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Featured speakers include: Dr. Ignacio Garcia, Dr. Michael Olivas and Dr. Cynthia Orozco.
