Carpeting Replacement
The carpeting on the main floor of St. Marys church has served the parish well for 30 years, but is overdue for replacement. In preparation for replacement, a number of parishioners have been asked to assist in choosing new carpeting. Arts Furniture has given us an estimate of $9100 to replace all carpeting on the main floor, including the sanctuary and entrance. Any contributions to defray the expense of replacement will be greatly appreciated! UPDATE: The carpeting is being installed. Thank you Kit Kaufman & Art Lundstrom.
"It

Pro - Life Messages is above all in raising children that the family fulfils its mission to proclaim the Gospel of life.... The family celebrates the Gospel of life through daily prayer, both individual prayer and family prayer. The family prays in order to glorify and give thanks to God for the gift of life, and implores his light and strength in order to face times of difficulty and suffering without losing hope. But the celebration which gives meaning to every other form of prayer and worship is found in the family's actual daily life together, if it is a life of love and self-giving" (Pope John Paul II: The Gospel of Life, n.92-93).

Stewardship Thought: Resur r ection is a theme in today's Scripture passages. In the Second Book of Maccabees, seven brothers and their mother die because they refuse to violate their religious beliefs. In dying, their hope is in the resurrection of the dead. In St. Luke's Gospel, the Sadducees, who do not believe in the idea of the resurrection, propose a ridiculous case to Jesus of a widow and seven brothers. Seeing through their trickery, Jesus states she will not be married to any of them because the children of God become like angels and marriage is not necessary in the afterlife. Jesus also proclaims that God is the God of the living; in other words, there is an afterlife and resurrection of the dead at the end of time. As Christian stewards, we find comfort in our belief in eternal life and resurrection of the just. Are we, as Christ's disciples, willing to stand up for our faith against attacks on our religious beliefs and liberty, whatever the source? Development Thought: Car ing for the needs of our retired priests is important to the people of our diocese. Many of our priests served faithfully in several parishes covering thousands of miles in eastern Montana throughout the years. They were there for us and it is a good time now to be there for them. Please support the Priest's Retirement Endowment of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana. We want to ensure a healthy future for all the priests who give of themselves to care for us. Your gift can be made in memory of a beloved priest or in honor of one who is living. Your planned gift can generate a substantial 40% tax credit for you, as well.
