PROBABLE CAUSE STATEMENT

DATE: November 14, 2013 I, Michael Hodge, knowing that false statements on this form are punishable by law, state that the facts contained herein are true. 1. I have probable cause to believe that Maurice N Quinn, a Black Male DOB: XX/XX/75 Age: 38, committed one or more criminal offense(s). Count 1: Stealing (Class C FELONY) RSMo 570.030 ON 8/15/2013 Time: 10:28 AM Place: 27XX MERAMEC ST (SCC 15021) Count 2: Stealing (Class C FELONY) RSMo 570.030 FROM 12/9/2012 TO 9/26/2013 Place: 36XX FILLMORE ST 2. The facts supporting this belief are as follows: The defendant scammed victims out of money. The defendant would meet victims online, begin dating them, promise them good deals on different items, and would cut off all contact with the victims after he received the money. The victims never got what they were promised. In July 2013 Victim A.L. met the defendant through a dating website. When A.L. complained to defendant about her daughters car having troubles, the defendant told her he could get her a good deal on a car. The defendant told A.L. he could get a Nissan Altima at an auction, and sent her a picture of the car. Between August 8, 2013 and August 15, 2013, A.L. gave the defendant a total of $500 U.S. currency to go toward a Nissan Altima. The defendant promised to pick A.L. up from work in the new car. The defendant never showed, and when A.L. tried to contact the defendant his number was disconnected. In December 2012 Victim K.R. met the defendant through a Craigslist dating post. K.R. complained to the defendant about having tire issues, and the defendant told K.R. he would assist her with getting new tires. K.R. gave the defendant $200 in U.S. currency to go toward tires. The defendant then told K.R. he could get her a good deal on a car, using the same story that he could get the car at an auction. The defendant promised to provide the victim with a Nissan Armada. K.R. gave the defendant $540 in U.S. currency to go toward the Nissan Armada. The defendant also promised to update K.R.s GPS system, and K.R. gave the defendant her GPS system. After the defendant received the currency from K.R., he cut off all contact with her, and never delivered her the tires or the vehicle. When K.R. called the defendant, it went straight to voicemail. Multiple women from various parts of the St. Louis area corroborate the victims. The defendants pending case in St. Genevieve (13SG-CR00668) is related to this scheme. Michael Hodge PRINT NAME
