DO IT YOURSELF C O N T E M P O R A RY C O U R T Y A R D
To make small area to appreciate ..think ZEN. You can apply Zen philosophy which is emptiness with artistic balance, and Zen gardens are quite contemporary style gardens in their own right. I can hear someone mumbling Im not an artist. I hear you, dont worry Ill make you into an overnight Landscape Artist if you promise me not to tell anyone. 1/3 is the vital point for focus point to be. See design drawing: there are broken vertical & horizontal lines which divide the area into thirds. Where the vertical and horizontal lines meet is the point to place your focus objects. There are 4 points in the design and you can pick 1~3 points but dont place all objects at these points. Eg: In the design I have placed a tall stone lantern on the right hand side of the the point point and placed a stone basin on the left hand side near the the point. point Then I placed an accent stone on third the the point. point Finally I designed stepping stones to connect the elements (called communicating) and hard landscaping is complete. I have chosen a grouping of one type of Azalea for the back of the stone basin and a Camellia sasanqua for the back of stone lantern for balance. One plant next to stone lantern will be..well.. I have a few choices and I will decide after placing everything else. Finally, fill the rest of the area with gravel and the job is done. Eg. you can choose gravel, like blue metal, pea gravel, rainbow stone, small river pebbles or ground cover like Babys tear. Next issue is Water feature.

Mens rule for Women When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine,.. Really.

Small Hint HintFertilizer Always water the pot and garden before applying fertilizer, then water well

In Japan
. Yukimi

(Snow viewing)

Custom of gathering to partake of food and SAKE while viewing a snow-covered landscape. Records of such events appear in chronicles of the Nara period (710 794). In the Heian period (794 1185), aristocrats held gatherings or accompanied imperial excursions to view the snow. By the Edo period (1600 1868), the custom had spread to the common people. It is nice to drink hot SAKE while viewing snow. I m a bit worried that people think Im

Sake-holic. Its not true, ah. A bit. Hey at least Im not alcoholic. I know you dont need to drink to have a good time butYou will appreciate having one or two drinks with friends if you have grown up this way. Which way ? Japanese way of course. In Japan there is a stone lantern called Yukimi Yukimi Lantern Lantern Snow viewing lantern to see the light reflecting from the snow. Japon in Subiaco have 3 types of Yukimi Lantern.

Chinese TallowTallow-Tree (Sapium sebiferum)

An elegant tree with soft heart-shaped 2-3 inch leaves, turning red in autumn. A very popular tree around Perth and it will nicely mix in the Japanese garden. Not fussed on soil condition (Ph). This tree will let you know truly when autumn is here. You can prune lightly in winter to help strong growth when it is young.

At the tobacco farm, I only spent $15 or less a week for food and nothing more. I saved enough money to buy a car and travelled back to Darwin with a friend. Have you ever seen Morris Minor kombi van? Well, that was a car and half. 1000cc engine with a built in water tank, gas fridge, cook top, sink, and D. bed. It was so heavy I could only manage around 60 km/h but positive outcome from this slow moving car was, I never hit a kangaroo and I didnt have to slow down to avoid them either. After the p#ss up at the tobacco farm my friend and I started heading back to Melbourne and then on to Sydney. We looked for a Japanese food shop because after 12 months in Australia, I really missed Japanese food. Somehow we found one and I spent big money on food. $40~$60 is how much I spent (remember fish and chips were 40 cents). I also asked the lady in the shop Can I send you my food order from Darwin? I will send you money if you let me know how much before you send my order. Yes its OK she said. Sometime later I sent a letter and asked her again to let me pay before she packed my order. To my surprise I received a parcel from Mrs Hasegawa (shop-owner) and all the food was inside with my bill. I was really happy, no, thats not the right word.

I was deeply moved by her trust, we only met once and she didnt know who I was and she sent me all the food I requested before I paid. The farmer and the shop owner taught me a very valuable lesson to trust people and not to judge people by looks but to see inside. And also if Im truthful, people will trust me and give me more responsibility as a reward. Although these were two small incidents they had a big impact on my life from then on. Even now those two lessons continue to reward me and I am really grateful to those people who influenced my life for ever. To be Continued

Why men cant win - If you mention how nice she looks, its sexual harassment. If you keep quiet, its male indifference.
